we didn't go, but we may in the next few weeks. no, this doesn't count as a proposal (he knows he has to propose at disney and it has to be a surprise!) but we've talked extensively about marriage and our future. anyway, i want a 3 stone ring with diamonds and something with color. he doesn't like that, but i said too bad lol

anyway, here are some i found that i love:

another really nice one

what do you think?! i do want it to be different. also, how are the prices? i have no idea how much these things cost.

Hi, congrats on a possible engagement soon!

I honestly am not sure on prices, though I do know the price of gold is going up (my ring is far more now then it was when we got it in Jan).

We got my ring at Gemvara (it's online). It's a jeweler that custom makes you rings (or any jewelry) and the site is so much fun to play with. You find a design you like and can switch out stones, metals, etc. They are pretty reasonable price wise and their work is GORGEOUS!

They have a great return policy, and their customer service was wonderful (email telling us exactly what step they were in while creating my rings), the boxes they came in were great. I get so many compliments on my ring:)

You can also create a "wishlist" to send to your future hubby.

This is my ring and wedding band (pics don't do it justice)

Although the cheaper version of your favorite is beautiful and has this classic feel to it, that last one with the pink is so cute and girly! I've never seen an engagement ring like it. It seems the more unique of the two designs. Now you've got me coveting it lol.

I like the Rotham Collection one. It's beautiful! And congrats on the possible although very likely engagement!:cool1:

I love an e-ring with colored stones! The price is going to vary a lot depending on the type of metal you use and the overall size and quality of stones you pick. I think its best to set a budget first, then look--but that's me. Here's mine, I love it more every day!

I agree with the pp about setting a budget first. Then decide what's important to you in terms of the stones. With diamonds, many people only think of the size, or carat, of the stone. But the cut is what really determines if a stone sparkles. Sapphires are generally more valuable if they are a deeper color, and they will also sparkle more with a higher grade cut.

I found that I preferred a smaller, higher grade stone to a larger, lesser quality one. But that's just personal preference, there's no right or wrong. Have fun! :goodvibes

we talked about it again and we don't think it's worth doing until i get accepted into medical/dental school, and since i'm not planning on applying for 2 years, that will be quite some time lol. i don't think budget is a huge issue, as he just got a job offer from his internship and he'll be making big bucks (woohoo). i'll post back in 3 years or if anything changes before then haha

DBF & I talked quite a bit about marriage leading up to our trip in May. He said how he had different ideas of a Disney proposal and everything.
Didn't happen.
It took a long time for him to understand you just can't do that. :lmao: You can't say Disney, Proposal, and then not go through! Especially when, after we get home, he said he saw a ring he wanted to get a ring and do it :headache::headache:
Of course, we have a good laugh about it now. But it made for a... disappointing? trip. In all other respects, we had such an amazing time :cloud9:

We're going back in a couple of years (after his cousin turns 5 - next August. So... 1-2 years). Gotta keep hoping ;) But lesson learned. Won't let him get my hopes up again :lmao:

Good luck getting into med school! The rings you picked out were gorgeous by the way!

thanks!! and oh my goodness, i would have been so bummed! you seem to be taking it well lol and hopefully it will happen next time!

we went to tiffany today, where i thought prices were outrageous, but he's insisting on a tiffany ring. not that i mind lol, but i would never want to wear it anywhere because if it ever got lost or stolen, i would hate myself. he's still saying it must be from there, even though i showed him the ones i linked on here and how much cheaper they are. nothing doing, but i told him i'd rather get a cheaper ring and start saving for a house, so maybe he'll think about it some more. teehee :)
