Daytona or clearwater? Or beach at all?

We are here now and were thinking of driving to either Daytona or Clearwater beach for the day tomorrow. Any suggestions as to which is better to visit? Less busy to drive to on a Sunday? Should we even try to go on a Sunday? We have two girls aged 9. Any suggestions would be very appreciated!

I would definately pick Clearwater over Daytona. Much nicer beaches are on the Gulf Coast.
If you have a day off or no park tickets for the day, then I would go for sure.

Drive towards Tradewinds resort. There is a public beach access really close to the resort. Tradewinds has a great water island in the water, high inflatable slides, jet ski's, dolphin tours, paddle boards, etc. It is a very nice beach that shares with other very popular resort. The Don Cesar (pink palace) is about a mile down the same beach and has been featured on the travel channel. Tradewinds is in St. Petersburg and this area been rated by many magazines and trip advisor as the number 1 family beach. We are going to Clearwater to see winter the dolphin. Since you have 2 9 yr old girls they may like seeing the star of the movie dolphin tale. Glad to hear the beach there is awesome too.

I agree you should choose Clearwater.

We went to Clearwater last June. LOVED the beach there and we rode the SeaScreamer, which is a speed boat ride where you're guaranteed to see dolphins. We saw lots and loved this boat ride!
