Days with the Largest Crowds?

I've assumed that the days parks have EMH are the days those parks will have the largest crowds. However, I jotted some notes down from a book this morning (2008 version, can't remember... might be a Passporter or Idiot's Guide)... that stated the days with the largest crowds as follows:

MK - Mon, Thurs, Sat
Epcot - Fri
DHS - Sun, Wed
AK - Tues

I can't figure out the logic behind these (they don't line up with all the EMH days)... I mean I can understand MK being busy on Saturdays, since it's the most popular park and Saturdays are a common day for "fun" times (no school/work/first day of a WDW vacation). However, where's the logic for the other parks/days? Could this have been mistakenly based on past EMH schedules?

Anyone have any clue?

From what I heard it is how when people come here to florida they travel from park to park in a certain order. Not always on early days. If I know a park has an early day I avoid it simply because it will be more crouded. that being said i do NOT use the hotels because we are only 2 hours away so it dosent benefit us.they also take into account that people go to sea World , Universal etc also. I saw it described once before but cant find it. Maybe it was In my "Great big book of everything" I will keep looking if i find it send it along.. but this is the jist of what it said .. Hope this helps .. have a Fun trip :)

Found some more info.. this is from a site i actualy bought a touring book from. it has been helpful and here is partly what they found out about the crowds ...A couple of interesting things to note in the above graph: First, 25 to 50% more guests visit the Magic Kingdom on Thursday than Tuesday. And more guests visit any Disney theme park on Sunday than on Saturday. In fact, Saturday ranks no higher than fourth (Epcot) on the list of busiest days at each park, and Sunday was listed more frequently than Saturday for every Walt Disney World theme park. Why? Our theory is that Saturday is a travel day for many families, and most families (71% of Orlando visitors in 2003) drive to Walt Disney World. The difference in water parks are more pronounced. During summer, it's not uncommon for twice as many guests to visit a water park on a Thursday than on a Saturday.

That's pretty interesting... never really thought about those aspects before...

I would think Monday is a busy day for MK because if you get into town Sat then Sunday is usually a low day for us anyway. We do the pool, Downtown Disney and stuff. So I am thinking Monday is the day most people would be heading to MK to start of the vacation.

I have no idea how this fits into anyones system. But my husband and I went to DHS to try out the AP advance look. But the ride had been down most of the day, and was down when we were there. Crowds thin.

We boated over to Epcot and did World Showcase with no problems - got to see Davy Jones, woot! I have never seen Epcot so empty -and we live locallly :confused3

That would be today May 12
