Please help us decide between two dates - Saturday 12/20 or Monday 12/22.:)

Touring Plans has predicted the crowds Saturday the 20th to be significantly lower than Monday the 22nd, our original date. I know both will be busy busy busy, but is there a chance Saturday would actually be better than Monday? It seems to make sense logically, because a lot of vacationers are probably traveling that day and arriving Sunday or Monday, but I don't want to be too naive...haha...

As background - we are former AP holders, spending one day at DL (probably JUST DL, possibly park hopper) when we come to SoCal to visit family. I'm a teacher and cannot go to DLR the 19th (Friday) or earlier because of work.

Thanks :)

My feeling is that they'll both be very crowded, but I, personally, would probably avoid 12/20 this year if I wanted to steer clear of big crowds.

Saturday, 12/20 is the first day of the Sneak Peek of the new "Frozen Fun" events in California Adventure (the Sneak Peek will last until the official launch date of 1/7/15), and it will inevitably bring out lots of people (even though many AP holders are blocked out after 12/19) to both parks on Saturday, 12/20 and on Monday, 12/22. (The Storybook Land Canal Boat ride is getting a new Frozen addition as well, which is set to open on 12/19 or 12/20.)

I was just reading about that...I loved Frozen when it came out, but YIKES, has this gone overboard....

I would expect that the Frozen stuff would bring more unexpected crowds to DCA than DL, right? We are probably not going to DCA. Though we might.

But if they are going to be pretty much the same, we will likely just go Monday.

You should also pay attention to the weather forecast. While rainy days help keep the crowds down, the day after a rain storm is typically much busier than normal.
