you just go back to GR and say that you have a DAS card on your magic band they did ask me why I think I needed a DAS card I explained it ( I was told when it first went digital they I would not have to any more) and I was cut off before I could finishes and was given the DAS card. you do not need your old magic band just as long as you have it linked to my disney experience

I had gotten a digital DAS on May 1. When I went back to WDW on July 24, the guest relations CM said she couldn't see expired DAS in the system. So I just explained my needs and was issued a new one. I hope this was a glitch and not the way the system is supposed to function. Bringing back your card each time to get scanned and renewed made the process so much easier.

that is what happened to me I had to reexplain why I needed a das card this next trip my DAS will still be good so it will be my september trip that I will need a new one I am hoping that I can say I have a DAS card and need a new one

The 'paper DAS' had a QR code that was a link to the Guest Relations file for that particular guest's DAS information. That file stayed on file , probably forever.
The QR code was the square with a lot of kind of squiggly black markings. When you brought your old DAS card back, the CM could read the code to access the file and issue a new card.

From what I know, the intent of the electronic DAS was that the file remains and works the same as the paper DAS, but a new link has to be made to it every 60 days.
It apparently is not working all the time that way because some people have had to re-explain their needs when their file was not found, but other people report their file was found.
