Daylight Savings Hours & San Diego Hotels

I know this will sound like a dumb question, but we will be in disneyland from 23rd June till 28th June. What time does it begin to get dark, daylight savings here it normally is around 8.30pm. Just wanted to know for purposes of parks, when we arrive and leave as we will be going to other areas of the US.

Also, I have been trying to find hotels that are cheap in San Diego but not so cheap they are barely liveable? Does any-one have any tips or advice, any hotels they think are fantastic etc. I would preferably like to stay in the Hotel Circle but if other areas better not fussed as we will have a car. If we are going from the 20th June-23rd June is it safe to book a hotel as we go or does it tend to be booked out during this time. We have been to the USA two times before and used coupon booklets from roomsaver.com and never had any problems booking as we went, however this was in September and November. This time we will be there from end of June Start of July.

Basically the cheapest Ive found San Diego hotels is about 60-70 a night- There are a few decent hotels around Hotel Circle- We stayed at both the Super 8 and the Marriott and both were nice in their respected classes- Weve also stayed at the Super 8 on Rosecrans and it was more of an apartment style but still decent-

I would recommed booking a hotel just for security- You can always cancel it if needed (within the hotels policy)

as for the daylight saving question- If I remember right it was also 8:30/9 for most of the spring/summer-

I've stayed at the Town and Country on hotel circle and thought it was nice for a three diamond hotel. They have some rooms in a high rise like a hotel and others in single story buildings, much like a motel, but facing into court yards. We went on a package which included your choice of two tickets to Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Wild Animal Park or Legoland plus a full breakfast for two. Those freebies brought the room rate down to about $70 -75 per night. It might be higher since I went off season and you'll be going during high season.

We got the package through our Southern California's American Automobile Association(AAA) chapter. You might want to consider joining to save on hotel rooms and attractions throughout the U.S.A. You can even get discounts on car rentals. I think all of the major attractions in Southern California give AAA discounts with the exception of Disney although I was told some multiday parkhoppers can be gotten through the Anaheim office. The membership fee, I think it's about $60 right now, might make it worth your while for the discounts.

Thanks for both of your replies, it gives me some idea of what to look for. I think with the AAA card i can't actually purchase it due to not being a US citizen. When i looked on the site it said you needed to have a californian address, i would of definitely got one otherwise.

Do you happen to have a military I.D. from any of the armed forces in Australia? If so, there are many economical accomodations you may have access to on military installations in and around the San Diego area. You might also want to give Priceline a try.
