Hello All~

It's looking more and more like my sister in FL won't be staying with us onsite but will probably drive in one or 2 different days to see us.

How do we handle this? Can she park at OKW and visit with us all day? Do we need to let the check in people know or the gate guard?

It most likely will be an all day visit since she wants to try and do a Segway tour with us in the morning and dine somewhere on property early evening.

I did try and search for this but the only thread I turned up was from 2001 so I thought I better ask...

This does most likely mean I'm cancelling a studio (still not confirmed yet:rolleyes1 ) so I know that will make someone on a waitlist happy:lmao:

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice!

Michelle

She can definitely park at OKW and go with you from there. Just have her tell the guard she is visiting a registered guest. You do not need to notify them in advance. The guard may ask for your name and to see yher photo ID. She can then park near your building and take the WDW transportation with you.

you can also get her a parking permit when you check in - just ask for one.

some people - she would rather drive over than stay in her own studio.

well understand - can't even get my brother to drive over. (he lives in St Augustine)

Thanks for the quick responses All, that truly takes some weight off my mind.

Spiceycat - believe me, this sister would love to stay on property! She takes care of our mother full time tho, and our mom is bedridden. The facility she has used in the past to board Mom overnight has closed recently due to budget cuts and Sis hasn't found another one that meets reasonable standards. (so I just found out, sounds like she's known for a week or so)

I think we're going to let the situation ride for a week or so and see if anything new comes along, and what our other sister has to say her position is but it really looks like the Family vacation for the Sisters may be put off a few years. (we've already promised to bring friends down in 2009)

I'm not surprised, and believe me we'll have fun no matter how many people are there, even if it is just me and hubby in a 2 bdrm:love: ~

Thanks again All!

Michelle

Even if you do this, however, she'll still need to go through security the first time without it. Then you can have her put it on her dashboard for subsequent visits.
