This will be our first trip to Disneyland and California. What is the best way to get from our hotel, right across the street from Disneyland, to Warner Bros Studios. We do not have a car and would rather not rent one, if possible. Thanks
Yikes, that's a tough one. It's at least a 1 hour drive if you did rent a car. Taking public transportation (MetroLink or bus) would probably turn that into a 3 hour each way trip. A taxi will most likely be around $125 each way. There are tour companies who do the Warner Bros tours and pick you up for free, but only if you are staying in Hollywood area. Honestly, I think your cheapest and fastest option would be to rent a car.
The pp is right. Burbank is not convenient by public transportation. You also have to check in at the guard gate which frowns on taxi's. Renting a car at Downtown Disney for the day would be your best bet. Also, remember traffic is horrendous!! So plan accordingly. ;-)
It's about 40 miles away. A taxi would be $100+ each way. On public transportation you're looking at 2.5 - 3 hours each way. If you took cabs to the Anaheim train station and from the Universal red line station to WB you could probably get that down to 2 hours each way. There are also Hollywood tours that include WB. Try Starline. The best option is to rent a car for the day in Anaheim and then you can include or exclude whatever additional stops you want.
How about a tour? We are booked on the Warner Brothers / Moviestar homes combo tour with Anaheim Tour Company in April. It's $125 per person (including your warner brothers tour admission) and they pick you up at your hotel.
If they are looking to the WB VIP tour, we did not have to check-in at a guard gate, simply parked our car in the parking lot across the road and walked up the to building. The only security was to enter the building itself. So if they chose that option I don't see that a taxi would be an issue.
