hi following on from a recent thread, I told dbf about it and he said he would really like to go on the eurostar so what he has agreed to do is that we drive down to Ashford and stay overnight and then get the train to DLP! for the day!. :cheer2: :cheer2:
when we get there we will just have a wonder round maybe go on a few rides, have a nice meal at cafe mickey then head back, we thought it was best to go without any plans on doing anything so we then have no expctations on what we can do in a day. :)

Not sure of when we are going probably september before dd starts school. :goodvibes :)

Its very exciting as i never thought dbf would agree to do something like this, he did not want to go DLP with us in July. so I am going with my sister.
(all I have to do now is to convince him to stay at DLP for the night, maybe at the holiday inn)

What fun!! :Pinkbounc I really, really enjoyed my DLP day trip, and if yours goes as smoothly as ours did, you will have a wonderful day!! :cheer2:

wideeyes - i hope that i haven't encouraged you to do this in my previous thread about day trips to dlp - all for £45 - i got the wrong info i think.

bexx - just wondering how much have your day trips cost?

thanks,

xjx

I noticed the other day that the Eurostar site offers day trips inclusive of park tickets for I think it was £59.
As far as I could work out though, you don't go direct to Marne le Vallee, as the package included a "round" ticket by RER, presumably you get off in Paris itself. :)

Do you have a link for this? I have looked on the Eurostar website, but have found nothing like that? :confused3

I've just looked on the Eurostar site and I can't find it either.
This is the site I was on when I found the offer it comes up with google for eurostar daytrips.
Eurspecials
I clicked on the link on the right of the page and that took me through to the details, but it doesn't anymore :confused3
This is the link anyway if you want to check occasionally but maybe the offer is only available at certain times, the stations are both too far away from us to consider a daytrip, so I didn't pay a lot of attention to the details.

It's scary that I can remember exactly how much it cost!!! The flight was £38, the TGV was £22 return and the one day one park ticket with shareholder club discount worked out at approx £26. So about £86 in total - plus food, and the car park at Liverpool airport!

So not cheap, but I had such a great day it was worth every penny!!! :goodvibes

That seems good to me for a great day out, you could spend that going to alton towers.

The big help was the flight being so cheap - I booked as soon as they came available. I'm not sure that they will be quite that low again - the starting price for flights to Paris now seems to be at least £10 more than last year. Though it's still very good value, especially if you are going for longer than a day!! :thumbsup2

With only one day at DLP, I think that with some advance planning you will have a more enjoyable day. You can get many helpful tips (best rides and attractions, how to avoid long lines) on this board.

Keep working on him for that overnight stay. Then you can both have a few drinks on your evening meal without having to worry about being sozzled on the train;)

well I think I may stand a good chance as he did say he would not go again so it was decided that I would take my sister instead, however last week he said he would go again for dd. I think maybe hes feeling left out when dd and I talk about are impending trip and he realise whats hes missing. :rotfl:
