Day trip to Clearwater by Bus

Has anyone done the bus trip to Clearwater Beach from Disneyworld ?

We are thinking of doing this tour and would be interested in anyone's experience doing this with their family. What tour company did you use ? Would you recommend this tour ?

We went 2 years ago and it was organised through virgin holidays so it was all brits. The beach is absolutely beautiful and later on in the afternoon we went out on a boat trip this was really nice until it started to pour with rain and we were all dripping wet. The thunder and lightening started just after we got back on land.
We left disney about 8 am and we were back about 6pm i think. It was a reaaly relaxing day and i would go back tomorrow if i could.

If you do it on a weekend day (Thurs PM-Su) it would probably be a lot less expensive and more flexible to just drive yourself to the beach on a 24-hour car rental. The only catch is that parking can be hard to find at Clearwater Beach on Sa-Su, which is why I'd recommend ...

Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands. These are state park areas just north of Clearwater. They are still undeveloped; in fact, Caladesi can only be reached by boat.

Of course, if you really prefer a more "boardwalk" atmosphere and lots of watercraft rentals, etc., then you would be better off with Clearwater.

I would also recommend looking for a cheap car rental. If weather is bad you can come back whenever, also you can stop for food and groceries, and cheap souvenirs!
