Day Pass at Hyatt Orlando Airport-is it worth it?

We did a day room last month and it was completely worth it. We had the same flight time you did. I was thinking we could go without to save the money, but once we showed up to the insanely crowded airport I was so glad we had it. My kids watched a movie and I took a nap. My husband took one for the team and went to get us food and came back saying he was so glad we had the room because it was a madhouse. We booked through the Hyatt website and I don’t think you have to pay in advance vs other sites.

We’ve stayed at the mco Hyatt many times the night before, next cruise thinking of getting a day room instead of going to WDW after.
This time it will be 4 adults. Questions about bathrooms?? I know where the lobby one is,is there one at the pool?? I’ve been out to the pool to look around and take pictures but never looked for a bathroom. Thanks!!

I did find out info for the pool bathroom, it is 1 stall with shower/tub/sink. Kind of strange.
So I’m looking for a day room now, do I have to call the MCO Hyatt directly??
I really hate calling and would love to be able to book online. I’ve looked at the website and couldn’t figure it out. Thanks.

From what I remember last time I had to call to reserve it. I just called directly to front desk ...not reservations.

Thanks for that info, it was easy peasy to book.
189 after taxes, etc. it was 212. I thought it was 99.00 but that must have been years ago.
It varies so probably worth checking back. I forget how much I booked for but a few weeks later, it was $30 more. Hyatt generally allowed free cancellation until the day before (unless you bought a restricted rate) so easy enough to cancel and rebook if it goes down.

Word of caution: apparently the MCO Hyatt unilaterally changes the day room rate on you? I just got an email that my reservation was “updated.” They changed my rate from $119 to $169. This has never happened to me with any hotel reservation before. We were already considering a different plan but cancelled this reservation immediately. Definitely not cool.

I'm sorry you have already cancelled. It's something I might have at least called and asked about?

On your confirmation email from the hotel, does it say "Rate Guaranteed" or "Rate Subject to Change"? If it's for a day far in advance, I do understand that Day Use Rooms are subject to availability.

Did you book directly with Marriott?

Did you give them a credit card number, as that may have given you some protection.

I understand being frustrated but have to say that even at $169, for me, it would have been worth it.

I just got home and checked my email and had one from Hyatt also, my rate for April was 189 and went to 209. I’m keeping it because I don’t like to hang in the airport for 8 hours. But I agree not cool. I’m already spending an insane amount for the mco Hyatt the night before the cruise.

The reservation doesn’t specify guaranteed but neither do any of my other Hyatt confirmations. It just says the rate can change if I make any changes like dates or number of people. I didn’t do anything. I feel like they need to be super clear if they can just change the rate. Otherwise, what’s the point of having the reservation if it’s subject to change at any time? I’m more annoyed that it was a 40+% jump. If it had been like $10, fine. But since we were considering another plan anyway, this definitely pushed us to go that way.

I have just sent an email . . we'll see if I get an answer. Here is the phone number in case anyone wants to call. I asked a general question since I don't currently have reservations for a Day Use stay. Does seem kind of sucky . . . Will post again if I get an answer.

We used the Hyatt day room on 4-12 for the first time, don’t know if I will ever do that again for the cost unless I can get the full 8 hours of use.
My DH took a nap and I went to the pool. Every chair was full, the pool was full of kids, I guess I was thinking it might be quiet, I was wrong.
Did have a nice long quiet lunch at mccoys.

Not surprised the Hyatt was busy with it being Easter Week/Spring Break. Did you have the Crawfish Chowder at McCoys? They told me that if I give them a days notice, they can give me some frozen to take home. You can take frozen stuff through TSA.

I think we are done with April cruises and going back to 1st week in November or December. No we did not try the chowder, we normally get the pizza and some items off the travelers trio menu. Everything we have eaten there is always good. Maybe next time we will have to try something new.
