Today was scheduled to be our "down day/pool day" because I just can't seem to stay out of the sun even though I know it's bad for me... :guilty:

First thing in the morning we headed back to Animal Kingdom to try our hand at getting that "perfect" free photo again on Expedition Everest!! GR! After riding a couple of times and still not being happy with the photos, I finally decided to just PICK ONE (!!!) and move on! LOL! And just to let you know, that pic will not be posted on the Dis! Ever! :rotfl:

We had an early lunch at Tusker House this time (first time eating here). Very good for a fast food place. I had salmon with rice and veggies and an iced tea (and cheesecake - can't forget that!!) and DH had.... hmmm... maybe chicken again? (and chocolate cake, AGAIN) 2 counter service credits... (only 2 more remaining at this point of our trip - that's when it starts getting depressing!)

Right after lunch, we headed back to the resort to spend the afternoon at the pool. I was growing concerned because the clouds were starting to move in on my sun time! GR! We spent part of the day at the "quiet" pool near our building in Barbados, then the rest of the afternoon at the "main" pool which was too crowded to really enjoy, but I was too lazy at that point to walk back to the quiet pool.

Our dinner tonight was scheduled for 7:30 pm at Citricos at the Grand Floridian which I love. Headed back to the room to shower and straighten my hair (not sure why I bother in the FL humidity  ) I am trying to think what I ordered here! I really should start taking notes instead of relying on my brain (it was almost a week ago now, you know). OK, I started with a sauteed shrimp appetizer (very good) and I *think* I had the NY strip - I'm *almost* positive! LOL! DH had some sort of beef appetizer and the filet mignon for an entree. Dessert was creme brulee for me (if it's on the menu, I order it) and DH had the Cinderellabration dessert (chocolate mousse tart). Dinner was around $180 with tax/tip. Used 4 table service credits.

The MK was closed early tonight due to grad nights, so it was a real pain getting to and from the Grand Floridian.

Our original plan was to head to Epcot after dinner (extra magic hours), but we decided to just call it a night and go back to the resort...

At some point today, I KNOW we went to Downtown Disney (lol!!) just can't remember where it fit in.. Actually, I think we went to DTD right before our dinner (that is how we caught a bus to GF). I upgraded my 6-day park hopper to an Annual Pass (woot!!) at Guest Relations there and then went shopping for all my little "goodies" at The Basin. :cloud9:

And, once again, NO picture to post on this day..... Gonzo!

I am so enjoying reading your trip reports as we were there as the same time as you for our first trip WITHOUT kids since our honeymoon 17 years ago!

It's a good thing you skipped the EMH at Epcot that night as we were there and it was a mob of people. We waited over an hour to ride Test Track and then left because it was just not fun at all.

We met my best friend and her new boyfriend for her birthday (the purpose of the trip). Friday was her birthday and it was very magical. She was such a good sport. I made her wear the 3 different birthday pins PLUS an "I'm the birthday Princess" crown & pin and a "Kiss me, it's my birthday pin" on her tummy. She was wished HB all day long by so many people and the street performers you mentioned earlier at MGM sang HB to her, which was so cool!!

Weren't we lucky with the beautiful weather we got to enjoy?

Yes, we had BEAUTIFUL weather!! I love the heat and the sun so it was just perfect for me! :sunny: Hope you had a wonderful trip? Are you going to post a trip report now? ;)

One addition and one correction:
did you forget to mention that My cinderellabration princess: came with its own chocolate crown.. We were both marveling at what a piece of art work it was :rose: until... She mentioned "boy I got to get a picture of you with that for the Alpha males..." :earseek: (which would have been lost anyway)... so in true alpha male fashion, I smashed the crown into a bazillion pieces :badpc: with my fork and started eating it. :stitch:

She probably didn't want to embarass me by mentioning that.. :)

Correction: I got the lamb shank, did not eat the marrow as I was not feeling adventurous ;) <yuck>

These reports are so wonderful. They are making me really hungry though! Cinderellabration dessert sounds absolutely heavenly!!

I love Basin! My mom took me to it when we went on our family trip last May. We were in there for atleast an hour. My sister and I smelled everything in the store. My dad, however, decided that he would sit this store out and waited while sitting on a bench.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.
