Cast of Characters:

Mom (Liz)- age 31 and the big Disney fan of the family. Went as a child about once a year until I went to college and then did the college program. (Sunshine Season Food Fair). After graduation I worked at Disneyland Paris for 6 months. Now, I am a stay at home mom and get to Walt Disney World as often as my husband will let me.

Dad (Dennis)- age 32. Not a big fan of such on the go vacations, but he tolerates it because he loves me and his kids.

Ryan- age 6 Ninth trip to WDW and 3rd Disney Cruise

Alex- age 6 Ninth trip to WDW and 3rd Disney Cruise

Brandon- age 4 Eighth trip to WDW and 3rd Disney Cruise

We started out the big driving day around 12:30 PM. The boys are all great little travellers and thankfully have bladders like camels, so our stops were few and traffic light. We stopped just once for gas and dinner. Around 10 PM we stopped for the night in Cordele, GA.

Up and out by 8:30 AM and arrived on property by 2PM. We checked in at The Beach Club Lobby.

We had reserved a standard view room. I knew that there were some secret standard views by the quiet pool (Thanks to the Y&B Club FAQ), so we asked for one, but they were booked solid for the F&W fest and the PGA tournament that weekend. The CM assured us that we have a lovely room with a full balcony and table and chairs. Check in was not until 3PM, so we headed off to Boardwalk to watch the OSU vs. Wisconsin game at ESPN. We ate lunch and saw quite a few Buckeyes there. Around 3:30 I called to get our room number and went up to it, my key wouldn't work. So I went to the front desk and they said my key had been coded wrong. I exchanged them and went back up to the room. I was so disappointed because our room only had a standing balcony. I really had my hopes set on a full balcony, so I called the front desk and told them what the check-in CM had told me. They told me they would call me back. 10 minutes later I was in a first floor room with a beautiful patio.

It was inside the courtyard facing the sand volleyball court. We could see a little water from standing on the patio. Our view.

After the football game we took the kids out to Stormalong Bay.

The weather was wonderful and they had a great time swimming and playing in the sand. We ate dinner at Beaches and Cream using our Connections vouchers. We ordered milkshakes which were split for all of us

the prime rib sandwich and fries, chicken ceasar salad, chicken noodle soup, banana split and strawberry shortcake! It was wonderful!

We played a few video games in the arcade and then off to bed!

Great pictures and trip reports. Were you in a refurbished room? The furnishings in your room look fresh and bright. I'm still doing the YC, BC, or Swan debate for a future trip to WDW.

Nice!
Is "storm a long bay" the hotel pool, or something in addition to the pool? Is it just for BC visitors? It looks so neat! Maybe ill stay there next time!

Great pictures!

I know what you mean about those standing room only balconies - it's kinda "let down" to have one. We had one on our trip a few weeks ago, and I really missed that place to sit.

What was your room number? It looks to be in very good shape.

:)
