We were originally planning to go to US June 23-24. Due to anticipated opening of HP we decided not to. Too much for 2 small children- IMO. But now I wonder how bad do you think the park will be June 16 or 17? Worth a shot or just as bad?

What do you think it will be like during the press event? On the 18-19th. Will all of the Harry potter area be packed or just the new ride area?

The whole Diagon Alley is very small, so the press event will take up most of it I would imagine, but not for two full days. The rest of the parks should be fine. As soon as more info is out, I'll post.

There will be special things going on all over the parks, and filming, but probably standard crowds otherwise. I think the big things to watch out for that week is the Tonight Show filming, since they are going to do the show's musical acts out on the stage next to Rip ride rock-it. Probably in the afternoon

Monday, June 16: Jennifer Lopez

Tuesday, June 17: Jimmy Buffett

Wednesday, June 18: "fun"

Thursday, June 19: Pitbull

Which may draw a lot of locals around (they may do one or two songs and that's it) the rest of the show is taping in soundstage 20 behind rockit.

Our plan is to go on Sunday the 15th. We have 2 day tickets but hope for a marathon one day. We will hopefully be issued a guest assistant pass for our son and he will not ride any of the big thrill rides but would ride ET and will do more of the shows. He wants to go for Jurrasic Park and walk around the HP areas. We would love to ride the train.

Thanks, we are splurging for a night at the Hard Rock and want to be able to access the rides quicker and are hoping not to be shut out of the Harry Potter area as we have never seen this part of the park. DH doesn't care but I read all the books and saw all the films. :goodvibes

If Diagon Alley isn't open yet, nobody other than media may be allowed in at all. We don't know when Diagon Alley will be open to the public yet.

We will be staying at Cabana Bay on the 28th-July 5th, and as much as we love the Harry Potter movies, books, and park attractions I would almost rather they wait until after our visit to open due to the fact that I know things will be super busy. I least that is what I tell myself, but then with every new photo or tidbit of information released about Diagon Alley I find myself more and more excited. Oh, well if its too busy this time it will just make it that much more enticing to plan more trips.

Tuesday, June 17: Jimmy Buffett

We normally go around this week in June but DH wanted to visit my parents on the 4th so we are going end of June now. After seeing this man even though it will be crazy stupid busy DH and I would have loved to see him preform there. Even if it was for only a couple songs :)

I think there's a big chance you've accidentally landed yourself there opening week. They started booking HP packages promising access to Diagon Alley as early as June 29

We're booked at the end of July at HRH .... starting to wonder if this was a good idea :duck: ... just because of how much chaos will ensue.

Oh well, there's really no turning back now :rolleyes1.
