We have a family of 6 visiting WDW. We would like to stay on site in a single room. Since 3 of the 6 are small children (1 under 3), we have ability to stay at resort like Polynesian which allows for 5 plus 1 child in a crib. The 6th person that would probably be relegated to the “day bed” would be the kid’s grandfather. Can I get some advice? Are daybeds comfortable enough for a week’s stay? I don’t want to be penny wise and pound foolish. (would love to be on monorail but don’t want to sacrifice one person’s comfort to do so). I suspect my only other on site option to fit 6 would be a 2 bedroom villa.
All comments welcome.

My sister finds the day beds quite comfortable (she says there is enough room, despite her 5' 11'' height). She has never had trouble sleeping on them, but I think that is in part because she is a sound sleeper. Personally I think the day beds do not allow for enough movement while sleeping.
I think the best way to answer your question is, to find out how much room the person sleeping on the day bed will need, and then assess the situation from there. I am sure if you call up CRO they can tell you the dimensions of the beds.

Oh, by the way, Disney cannot guarantee a room with a day bed, but we have never had any trouble getting one.

I think all of the rooms at the Poly have daybeds. My 12 y.o. slept in one for 9 nights last Nov. The plan was to switch with his sister half way through the trip. He found it most comfortable and never wanted to give it up. My husb lounged on it a few times and confirmed the comfort part. He is only 5'8'' so the length wasn't any problem for him. I think I remember reading that the Poly daybeds are larger and longer than those at the YC & BC.

My DS17 slept in the daybed at the Polynesian rather than the queen--by his choice :)

My DD sleeps on a full size mattress at home. At the Poly, she chose the daybed so she didn't have to sleep with her little brother. I figured she wouldn't sleep a wink the 6 nights we were there. Well she LOVED the daybed and has already claimed it for our return trip this November. :p
