I had a question and I hope one of the GF junkies can answer me. We'll be 4 women sharing a room at the GF next September. My mother and aunt will share a bed, but my sister is strange and needs her own bed. What this means is that one person is on the day bed, namely me. So how big are the day beds? Would they work for a grown woman? Thanks for your help.

They are approximately the same size as a twin bed, so a smaller adult would be fine. There are rails on both ends, so if you're rather tall, it could be a tight fit. Also, if you really need the day bed, have it noted on your ressie. All the rooms at GF that are located on the top floors of the lodge buildings, only sleep 4 and do not have the day bed. Since you're a party of 4, you run the risk of getting assigned one of these rooms.

Edited to add: Here is a picture of the day bed from Deb Will's site allears.net

My 9 year old niece slept on it with plenty of room to spare. Take the cushions off the back, the mattress is close to twin size. I was surprised if you take the cover off, there are sheets and a blanket underneath, I thought we would have to make it from a blanket and sheet in the closet.

also just give housekeeping a call and let them know you would like it made up everynight at turndown service.

My 21 year old cousin/best friend...6' tall, 200 hundred pounds of muscle had no problem on it...thought it was comfy...

Why doesn't your sister get the daybed? Or at least switch off.

She's the one actually paying for the room for the trip. So I won't be complaining. I slept on a twin until I got married to my DH, so probably won't be a real problem for me. I typically sleep all curled up anyways. Thanks for the help.

I'm just under 6' and weight a hefty 330lbs and I had NO trouble falling asleep on the day bed. As folks have said, unless you are a basketball player you shouldn't have any problems whatsoever.:earsboy:
