Magic Kingdom

I was woken at 2am by what I thought was a hurricane crashing at the door. I looked through the window and all seemed OK – very confused. I opened the door and realised that the sprinkler bashed the door as it was turning!

I woke again at 7am, showered and made the rest of the family wake up! Don’t they know we have places to go, people to see, things to do?!

We had a quick breakfast in the food court then made our way to the bus stop to wait for the Magic Kingdom bus.

We arrived at M K at about 9.30 – we didn’t do our 1st ride until 10.30!! We spent time meandering along Main Street and then Daisy and Minnie wants to give the kids their autographs and have photos with them! Oh, what it must be like to be so popular.

First ride was Splash Mountain so that we’d have the rest of the day to get dry! We were all suitably wet by the end of the ride so it was straight over to Big Thunder Mountain in the hope that the speed would dry us!

Mini Drama/How to be a Popular Mummy - Gianni went to the loo when we came off Splash and somehow dropped his cap in the loo! He came out holding the cap expecting me to carry it round till it dried because it’s his fave cap! No way! Yuk! Straight in the bin!

The next mission was Mickey’s Philharmagic but as we passed through Frontierland to Fantasy Land I spotted Country Bear Jamboree. In all the times we’ve been to MK this show, together with the Enchanted Tiki Room and the Liberty Square Riverboat, has always been missed.

So, much to the annoyance of a disgruntled Gianni (and a not too happy-looking Enz) we gather with all the other innocents for this show. It pains me to say it but I give it one big thumbs down and I was WRONG, we shouldn’t have stopped!

Now then. Mickey’s Philharmagic was a different kettle of fish. We all loved this, it’s such a feel good show and we came out with huge grins.

We moved on to Tomorrow Land to queue for Space Mountain. About ten places away from getting a seat Gianni decides he’s desperate for a wee and if I don’t take him I can’t blame him if he has an ‘accident’. So we leave Enz & Gabs to enjoy the ride and go to the nearest restroom. Does Space Mountain have the longest ride exit known to mankind!!

About an hour later we arrive at the restroom, we queue again and as we get nearer and nearer to the front, Gianni panics because he’s convinced the ride goes upside down. I assure him it doesn’t pointing out the lap bars in the cars. He looks up into the darkness and he’s DEFINITELEY seen one of the cars turn upside down! Aaaargh kids!!!!!

On we get and BLAST OFF!!! (at this point I wish it would flipping well go upside down!!)

This ride is much jerkier than I remember it being and am not too sure that I enjoyed it!

We exited (again) into the obligatory gift shop where Enz spots us and send Gianni off to look for Gabs (this is a bif gift shop/arcarde). So of course Gianni goes off to the right and Gabriella appears from the left. Enz then decides he’s going to find Gianni – set off to the right and Gianni appears from the left. It was so tempting to join in with the fun and set off the the right in search of Enz! But alas, just as I was contemplating this, Enz reappears. (It was funny at the time – you had to be there :rotfl2: )

It’s now 2pm and to say we were famished is an understatement! We headed of to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. Gianni had ribs. Enz a burger and Gabs a vegeburger. In an attempt to eat healthy fast food – please note the word ‘fast’ – I ordered turkey wrap and got in line. I have never ever waitied for food, at Disney, as long as I did for this blessed wrap - 20 minutes!! Folk were complaining/getting money back but I just waitied.

Needless to say by the time I sat down the kids were hanging around outside, Enz had finished his lunch and had had a second trip to the fixings bar!

Re-fuelled, we headed to Buzz Lightyears’ Space Range Spin. We all love this ride – I even manage the best score – 40,000 ish – whilst taking photos. The real Buzz was waiting to have photos with the kids when we exited – how lovely!

Of course it was then back on the ride so my score could be beaten, and was, by Gabs’ 102,000 score.

We went to see Philharmagic again before deciding we were ready to head back to the resort. We left the park at about 4.30 via a stop an the candy store on Main Street – How BIG are those rice crispie treats??!!

Back to the resort for showers and a rest – somehow I missed out the ‘rest’ part! Then it was onto Boma’s for 8pm dinner.

We enjoyed Boma’s but agreed we probably wouldn't make the effort to go back. (10 months on I'm now quite tempted to go back lol)

We had a look around the gift shop – as you do. Gianni bought a Mickey soft toy then dramatically started hopping about because his knee was hurting! He had said a couple of times during the day that it was hurting and being the caring, in tune mother that I am, I thought he meant his eczema and kept slapping his cream on

Guiltily, I carried him part-way to the car but he really is getting too big to carry so he had to hobble the rest of the way. Although there was some normal and what seemed like pain-free walking thrown in. When this was mentioned to him I got back tearfully ‘why do you never believe me?’.

Once back at the resort we settle the kids into beds and left them watching Disney TV so we could walk round the resort.

Closing comment – none of the rides took more than 10/15 minutes to queue for. A couple of them were walk-ons – bliss :Pinkbounc

Plan for tomorrow – Animal Kingdom & Magic Kingdom for Spectro & Wishes.

Buzz Lightyears’ Space Range Spin is DH favourite ride. I am sure he could stay on there ALL day :)

what a fantastic time that was :) ps (i wouldn't have carried that cap either!!)

Enjoyed the visit, living it through your report. My DS's would have been the same - boys what do you do with them :teeth:

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

I find Space Mountain very jerky as well. Love Philamagic though!!!

Lovely report, thank you. I love the Splash, Rocky and Space Mountains. I always get to sit in the front on Space because no one else likes to, best seat in my opinion.

I love Philharmagic, it was the first time we saw it this year and did it a few times. We have never done that bear show, never fancied it and never will now you have confirmed it isn't good.

The only ride I don't like doing is Haunted Mansion, it always makes me feel sad after it, remedied it this year by doing It's a Small World straight afterwards.
