This is moving day (FW cabins to Poly) and we have an 8:00 am breakfast date at Cinderella's castle. Everyone is up, ready and packed at 7:30 am. We drive over to Poly, park car and walk over to TTC. I ask about a bus to MK and the CM informs me that we will need to ride the monorail or boat over to MK. But the boat won't start running until 8:30 am. I explain I don't ride the monorail, and we have a PS for breakfast at 8:00 am the castle. He again says the boat doesn't start until 8:30 am. I think OK; we will just walk back to the Poly and catch the bus to MK from there. Walk back, get to front desk and inquire about bus to MK. No bus to MK, it's either the monorail or the boat. Boats start running at 8:30 am. At this point I am about in tears. It's 8:10 am, we've missed our PS, all my planning, getting up early to get PS, really building up this breakfast to my family is all falling apart because I can't make myself ride the monorail. CM seeing my despair promptly calls castle and informs them that the Jeffcoat family has encountered travel snarls and will be arriving late for our PS. He then assures me that everything is all right and directs us to the boat landing. I try so hard to control my panic attacks but some things are so hard for me to handle. The monorail while fast and quiet is enclosed and there is no way to get off. The last time we visited we got "stuck" (another train was in the station probably) for about 15 minutes and I was a basket case by the time we got off. I just didn't think I could face it again but at the same time I felt like I had let everyone down because I couldn't face my fears. Oh well, the boat comes; we load in and get to the castle at 8:50. We fight our way into the lobby area (everyone was waiting for the rope drop), I check in with CM ready to try to explain why we are 50 minutes late for our PS and she smiles sweetly and says that now we have a 8:55 PS and they will be with us shortly. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

While waiting in line, Bug notices that the family in front of us has a green ribbon on their backpack. I ask if they are a part of the DIS and they are. We begin chatting, and we share our screen names. No only are we both part of the DIS, we had actually been conversing prior to our trip (Hi Bonzo and family). This is really special. I have been reading this boards for about 6 months and it is wonderful to meet some of the great people who hang out here. The morning is looking brighter and I am feeling better about myself. Girls really enjoy meeting the Fairly Godmother and just moments later our name was called and we made our way up the stairs to breakfast.

Now the whole breakfast was wonderful, food was great, characters were interesting and charming but our server made our breakfast. His name is David. We even got a picture with him and his autograph. If ever a CM represented the magic of Disney, it was surely he. I knew they were going to greet us like lords and ladies but I wasn't prepared for the humor. My husband made a comment about our being late for our PS because robbers in the forest attacked us and David commented that he could see they had not taken the family jewels (pin lanyards around my, Tink and Bug's neck. When Aladdin came by our table, the interaction between the two of them was hilarious. Aladdin commented that our server reminded him of the genie but the genie had more hair. (He was a little light on hair on the top.) When I was focusing the camera for the picture with Aladdin, David got behind them and was posing showing his muscles. When Tink asked for additional bacon he brought back a plate FILLED with bacon and when he asked if she was finished with her current plate, she responded no, and he just DUMPED all that bacon on top of her plate. The look on her face was priceless. We laughed and laughed. When he caught her sharing her bacon with Dad, he asked would she like to walk around the room and share it with the other guests. He patted Tink on the head as we were leaving and made the comment "he just liked to feel what hair felt like on top again." This breakfast was the highlight of our whole trip. The words I write don't do it justice.

Now on to the rides. We do the carrousel, Small World, and Snow White. Peter Pan is showing a 45-minute wait so we get a FP and move on. We get sidetracked by our pin collecting by a CM asked if we got our voucher to the Aladdin pin. When we said no, she advised her to go to guest relations and pick one up. The pin apparently was limited to 1000 and was released today. So we troop over the Guest Relations and they don't have voucher. They directed me to the front to the white tents that are setup. But at the front of the park, there are no white tents. Hmmmm. Finally another CM tells me that all the vouchers are gone. Oh well. We make our way over to Adventure Land and pass a family on the bridge with lanyards on. We stop to admire each other's pins and they have the Aladdin pin. We comment how we didn't receive the voucher and the Mom whips out an extra that she got and promptly gives it to us. What a nice gesture! She advises us to hurry over to pickup the pins as the voucher are only good until 12:00 and it's like 11:30 now. We pick up pins; go to Tiki Birds, Jungle Cruise and Pirates. Caption Hook and Smithy are signing autographs so girls get in line. At this point our FP for Peter Pan is running out. We opt to stay in line and forget about FP. I PROMISE Bug that we will be returning to MK and we will be sure she gets to ride Peter Pan. BIG MISTAKE! Sadly when we return to MK on Friday (our last park day), Peter Pan has a 90-minute wait posted and FP is for 6:30 (we have dinner PS for the same time at O'hana). We try to return after dinner but Main Street is like swimming upstream and after fighting our way to the Tomorrow land bridge we decide to just stake out our spot to watch Tinkerbell fly and the fireworks rather than trying to make it to Fantasy Land. Now we did hundreds of wonderful things on vacation and rode lots of rides, but I still feel bad about Bug not getting to ride this ride. Even as I write this, a wave of remorse sweeps over me that we should have somehow tried harder. Now Bug is not complaining, it's just a Mom's guilt when we promise our kids something that we don't follow through on. Oh well, enough of my whining but it will be the first thing we do our next trip!

Our evening ends with us meeting our friends at MGM for supper at the Brown Derby (wonderful) and watching Fantasmic. This is a wonderful show but I sure am glad we did the dinner package and didn't have to wait for 2 hours for seats. When we arrived at 8:30 the whole stadium was packed and they were already doing standing room only.

Hi Ratcatshell,

It was great to meet you and your family in the foyer of Cindy's. We were so pleased you spotted the green ribbon on our rucksack - it made it all worth while!!

Great trip reports!

Isn't it funny how something good sometimes comes out of bad situations. If you had not been late for your ps you probably wouldnt have met a new Dis friend. :) Sometimes I get a little crazy on the monorail but I've found if I sit with my back to the front of the car and dont look when another one whizzes by I'm ok. Glad you had a good day!

Hi,

Oh dear, I remember you telling us that you didn't ride well on the monorail :earseek: , and yes, we had problems on the resort buses initially - :(

I'm REALLY glad you spotted DW's green ribbon - it made our trip quite special -

Did you get a picture of Tink with all that Bacon- Priceless!

You sure got a great CM during your breakfast - we really enjoyed ours but no such antics though!

We didn't hear about the Aladdin pin though - gosh you were lucky - people are so kind, I bet they were from the Dis! We had a similar situation in USF, but more of this later!

Poor Bug missing out on Peter Pan - I know how you feel as even though we were there for 3 weeks we STILL missed a lot out, although the kids were proably unaware (I hope)! - yes, we even missed Fantasmic - GASP!

Can't wait for the next installment.

Wow...what a wonderful breakfast at the Castle that must have been!! I hope you took lots of pictures!! That is so great that you got to meet Bonzo!! Thanks for posting...looking forward to reading more!! :)
