Day 5: Three places, one day!
Woke up bright and early with the help of a Mickey wake up call. Had breakfast in the room and got ready to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Left my sweet little friend Pal Mickey tucked up in the bed with the TV control beside him for when he wakes up.
Headed out to the bus stop and again the bus arrives at the same time as us. At Typhoon Lagoon very quickly, entered without queuing, bought a bar code for last years Blizzard Beach mug and found some loungers down by the wave pool.
Went on the family raft ride first as we hadnt done this before, wasnt impressed much prefer the one at Blizzard Beach. Went in the lazy river where I was on constant look out for snakes in the bushes, didnt see any so I started to relax. Did a round trip in the lazy river and returned to loungers where I listened to my walkman for a while then we went to get lunch and we wrote the postcards we had bought yesterday at Discovery Cove. After lunch we went into the wave pool which was awesome!!! After some body surfing for me and some ankle surfing for Tricia (she doesnt like water) we sat on the little padded wall in the wave pool to people watch. Saw a lifeguard jump in to rescue someone who had went out of their depth. Returned to lounger to dry off and then headed back to Caribbean Beach.
When we got in we found Mickey sitting on the bed watching the Toon Disney, the housekeeper had even turned the TV round so he could see it properly. She had also made him a towel rabbit which he was cuddling. He looked so sweet.
Once we were organised and my humidity hair was under control (it was having a better day today) we headed back to bus stop to go to Downtown Disney to exchange our vouchers for Cirque du Soleil tickets. This was all done very quickly so we popped into Disney Quest so I could check my e-mails. A child I look after at work was having a heart operation on June 30th and wanted to know how she had got on. E-mails checked and a quick look at the DIS and the Big Brother site and we left. Even managed to get out without getting lost which we have never done before but we did cheat and took the elevator instead of the stairs.
Walked over to the bus stops at Pleasure Island and got the bus to the Boardwalk and then the boat over to MGM. We arrived at MGM at 5.15pm and I remembered to turn Mickey on before we entered, we walked up to the ABC theatre place (next door to Sounds Dangerous) and got a spot on the ground right beside the brass line. Parade was wonderful, this is my favourite daytime parade. After the parade we went to Indiana Jones show then the Muppets. Looked around the shops at the entrance then went down to Tower of Terror. Mickey wasnt keen on riding but I reassured him that if Tricia was going on it wasnt scary. Stand by line was only 15 minutes so in we went. I love this ride and apart from the first time I went on it I have never been scared. I was now!!! I was scared of the seatbelt and while I was praying that the seatbelt wouldnt come loose when the lift dropped I was shot up into the air which was a surprise. This ride was fantastic, loved going up first and loved the seatbelt. Saw Fantasmic which is Tricias favourite and headed back to Caribbean Beach.
Tomorrow : Shopping and Cirque
