No alarm call this morning, birthday treat for Kerri. She seems to have developed early into a love affair with her bed in the morning. Everyone work at 7:50am. Opened the present and the cards then off to breakfast at the Food Court. . We arrived at Epcot by bus around 9:45am. I dived off to grab FP for Test Track (times were already 12:30-01:30, Wow). I met back up with everyone at the Living Seas, just as the heavens opened. The Living Seas was great and the kids loved it.
Next up was one of my must do rides Imagination. Time for me to meet my old friend, Figment. I love the new ride. Next was Honey, I shrunk the audience; it was a walk on due to the rain. It was time for of FP on Test Track. Is it just me or is this a slow loading ride? What a fantastic ride though. Big grin factor going down the main straight. Only complaint was it was over too fast. Time now for lunch and this time we eat in the Wonders of Life and Pure and Simple. Suzanne and I had a turkey wrap, which we thought was rather bland. Kerri had a fruit waffle and Liam had a Hot Dog which he never really eat, it did not meet his specification for food not chicken strips.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel for our afternoon swimming session. We finished our pool session, showered, changed and then headed back for Epcot for our first Character Meal. We had a PS at the Garden Grill at the Land. We were about forty five minutes early so we say the Circle of Life another hit with the kids. I think we are starting to repair our status with kids after the Animal Kingdom. We had a sort look around the rest of the Land and then headed to the Garden Grill. Even though we were slightly early we were seated quickly and we tucked into the bread and salad. Goofy was the first character at the table quickly followed by Dale and Mickey himself. The characters were great with the children and even Liam got involved, autographs and photos were obtained. Along come the rest of our meal, it was all very good, but my favourite was the slab steak, hmmmmm. Kerri enjoyed her macaroni and Liam, well he enjoyed his chicken strips and chips. The children had worms in mud, which Kerri enjoyed, but Liam was not sure.
We had lemon pie and was a nice way to finish the meal. So all in with two drinks for Suzanne and myself including time it came to $95. Good value in my book. We left the Land with full tummies.
Kerri declared she did not want her birthday to end just yet. We decided to wait and see Illuminations. While we were waiting, just at the entrance to the World Showcase, we started up a conversation with an American lady who was there with her grandson, a cast member then joined in the conversation, who Suzanne did some pin swapping with using up some of her starter pins. The fireworks were superb, what a great view we had. A good taster of what to expect for out Pontoon boat cruise with Jessie2 on the 21st. Towards the end of the fireworks Suzanne turned to me and said What are those spots on your T-shirt?. I looked and I was covered in lots of tiny black spots, I then looked at Kerri and Liam, they too were covered in tiny black spots. It was soot from the fireworks, which was being blown over us by the light breeze. I am glad it was dark on the bus. We left about three minutes before the end of the display to avoid the worst of the rush. We had one of the best bus drivers of the holiday on the way back to the hotel. He kept us all interested with Disney trivia and facts. He was also one of the smoothest drivers as well. Back at the hotel, we had drinks all round and then light out at 10:30pm.
Kerri enjoyed her birthday, we think!
