Day 1 of 6 : I thought there would have been snow!
Day 2 of 6 : Oh there it is
Day 3 of 6 : Ooooo look at the pretty snow

Day 4 of 6 : OMG the snow is still there

Wednesday

Another early start again today, we had breakfast booked for 8.30am in our hotel. We really should have got up earlier and enjoyed more of the EMH but we loved our warm snugly beds at NPB and have you seen how cold it was outside.

For those people who thought we have been exagerating about how cold it was.

We arrived at Disneyland Gates at 9.30am (EMH nearly gone). Instead of heading into the parks we used our Shareholder card and visited Salon Mickey for the first time, mainly because we were enjoying ourselves so much we forgot all about it. We had a lovely cup of hot chocolate (didn’t have any pastries as just finished breakfast) – Josh had some fresh orange juice and we took in the ambience. Chilled and warmed it was time to be off for another busy day in the parks.

Does this look like fewer people today.

Look at the beautiful blue skies

We headed for the Spinning Tea Cups first (which we did twice as there was no queue), then it was onto the Carousel where again there was no queue.

Do you think Josh likes the Carousel (or the merry go round as he calls it).

We couldn’t do Fantasyland without Josh’s favourite favourite ride It’s a Small World. When we came to get off Small World we were told we could go around again, so I got back on followed by Tracey, we both looked at each other and realised Josh wasn’t there, a parent’s worst nightmare. They were holding the boat while Josh was quite happily looking at the snow through the fence at the exit side of the boat. So after some shouting and a sudden realisation from Josh that we weren’t next to him, he dived on the boat and we were off for another cruise through the ever so disturbing ride of talking dolls. We then headed to Big Thunder Mountain (which Josh was tall enough to ride this time) there was only a 10 minute wait, he liked it apart from the dark bits (which we couldn’t understand as he is definitely not afraid of the dark, unless it’s on a day when he says he is) he even managed to put his hands in the air when we turned corners, Tracey didn’t which he will not let her forget.

Next we did the Riverboat (which was all in French, so we just took in the scenery) although it should have been called the Ice Breaker as the ice was unbelievable. They seemed to be constantly spreading salt and scraping ice but the deck was pretty slippery.

Look at the ice!

Just in case you don't believe me, take a closer look.

The sun was out a the sky was blue and couldn't resist just snapping away.

Someone could have at least brushed the snow off the hillbilly and his dog.

Just couldn't not post these two.

Next stop was Haunted Mansion (I wasn’t sure about Josh going on this But he seemed okay), I think the build up to the ride scared him more than the actual ride and we had to stop and watch The Bride at the exit to the ride so he could heat what she was saying.

Next we wanted somewhere warmish so we headed for Le Passage de Aladdin which Josh loved last time – he didn’t seem too bothered about it this time.

Came out of there and caught the castle from another angle.

Then it was off to the DISboards meet outside It’s a Small World at 1 o’clock. We met up with Tracey and her family and Emma and Kyra – we had to ride It’s a Small World together then had a group photo.

So pleased it wasn't just me at the meet.

While at the meet Josh suddenly discovered the snow.

We then headed to Snow Whites Adventure – Josh really wasn’t keen on riding this but he got on anyway, we had quite forgotten how nasty it was not only was Josh scared but I think we both were as well.

Josh and I pulled the sword out but put it back to pose for this picture.

If you listen closely you can hear him snore, the armour not Josh.

We had a 3 o’clock reservation for Lucky Nugget. It was so disorganised there was no one on the front desk and we had to wait what seemed like ages to be seen to. They really need to have someone permanently on the desk even just to chase walk ins away. Eventually we got seated we were disappointed with the buffet as although there seemed to be loads of selection most of the dishes were empty and it was taking them ages to replenish for some reason. We did this for Josh as a character experience (as he had really enjoyed Café Mickey in May) and we were sorely disappointed as there was only Tigger and Goofy there and they disappeared 20 minutes after we walked in. I know we were having a late lunch but we should have been told when we booked it that really we would be going too close to end and the characters wouldn’t be there. There were other disappointed people around us and really need to right to complain about it. Anyone have an email address to complain too? Definitely would not go back as it was the worst meal we had on this trip.

Do you think this is assault?

We then decided to head for Honey I Shrunk the Audience which said there was a 10 minute wait which was more like about 20 minutes, the cast member on the turnstile said nothing about any delays just stood there looking surly and kept wandering off. We were eventually shown into the pre-show area where the signs kept stating that the show was about to start – then another 5 minutes wait. Anyway all that waiting was too much for Josh and he decided he needed to pay a visit to the bathrooms. Tracey and Josh left and were told by two cast members the next toilets were Videopolis when we go there they were locked and had to head to the ones by Autopia.

After we had met up with Stephen we all did Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger ride twice as there was little queue.

Josh and Tracey did the spinning tea cups and then the carousel twice while Stephen took some photographs of the park. I would have liked to have spent some more time taking pictures but it was so cold my hands were seizing up when I took my gloves off.

I think that submarine submerges late at night.

The lighting on Space Mountain is fantastic.

Never really saw it working but those lights work great.

Phantoms walking passed the mountain.

Looked better once they switched the icy lights on.

Did someone steal the tea cups.

We had to head for our final ride of the day – It’s a Small World (what else)

We decided to watch Candleabration as in May we had watched it and you couldn’t see anything being lit as it was too light. Anyway the show was great – much better when you could actually see the candles being lit. The only thing I thought better was in May they had a show in front of the castle on the raised stage and this time the show was actually on the castle front.

We headed back to the hotel and arrived at. 7.30pm. Josh was bathed and in bed very quickly and we just chilled, read a bit book, watched a bit telly and went to sleep.

It really depnds what camera you are using but basically no flash, find somewhere stable (railling, table, tri/monopod) and if possible make sure your camera is set to a low ISO.

Another great day Steve :thumbsup2

we were at the LN on Saturday that week and we found it exactly the same,
crowds overwhelming staff at front of house and food not being refilled quickly. We had thought this was becuase we had picked a Saturday ,,,but obviously not, maybe they were having abad week.

Loved your pictures

Some of those photos are WOW! I loved the comment on the photo of the sword in the stone - made me laugh.
