Day 3 “MNSSHP! (Yo Ho Yo Ho, a pirates life for me!)”

Cast of characters: DD-Emily, 3 ½ yo, ‘itchy bum princess!’
DW-Jody, 40, ‘the OTHER princess’
Me-John, 50, ‘mortified pin trader’

Mickey woke Emily up again at 6 AM! We rode the EE bus to AK & arrived in time for the 8 AM opening ceremony! How neat to see the beaming young guest dressed in safari garb, chosen to hold one of the spider cages while ranked by cast members! We headed for Donald’s Breakfastosaurus & seated within 10 minutes! Emily threw the first of her ‘thrice a day strops

& wouldn’t have anything to do with the family picture. We were sitting in an area with bare floors & metal chairs, quite noisy! We now understand why the server say’s ‘wait before you go up to the buffet’! Goofy showed up almost immediately for P&A! Then our server kept holding us back until we had seen Donald, Mickey & Pluto! All that was left was to eat! The buffet food is ok, but not stellar. Again we go for the atmosphere/characters! Emily & I were near the buffet doing a pin trade, when out of nowhere a CM taps me on the shoulder & says ‘excuse me sir, but your DD has her pants down!

IJW “He was mortified, but with quick reflexes dad pulls her pants up without losing his newly acquired pin!” (I might add without poking DD in the bum with the pin too!) “Not to be deterred, Emily promptly pulls them back down & now dad tries to investigate further as to what the problem really is. Her bum itched LOL! Simple? NOT!!! Up go the pants a second time & now DD is howling & down they go for the third time!

Now dad was completely mortified, everyone was staring & DD gets pulled back to the table for mom to deal with! Needless to say, we finished quickly & left for anyplace we wouldn’t be recognized!”

Emily & Jody went to the bone yard, (a definite pre-planning request by DD) where she happily dug while Jody sat on the wet rocks! In the mean time, I went to check out PW & do some quick shopping & pin trading! This was one of the times when the 2 way radios came in handy! Unfortunately I didn’t follow my instructions & sat on a bench instead of going all the way in to the dig site! Jody thinks I was too embarrassed from the pants incident to come into the play area, but in reality I didn’t know exactly where the dig site was in relationship to the play area & I was enjoying my rest on a bench!
Since I blew our first chance at seeing the Lion King show, we headed over to Camp Minnie-Mickey. On the way I convinced Jody we should try ITTBAB. (She isn’t the best bug lover in the world!) It was anybody’s guess how Emily was going to react. IJW “I apprehensively agreed to take DD in.” Well we all did fairly well until it got dark & the spiders came down from the ceiling!

After mom got Emily to stop screaming “I want to leave!” & took her glasses off, she watched the rest of the show & did OK. Way to go dad!! Now off to F ot LK. I thought we were bucking the exit line from Fantasmic, there were such crowds heading out of Camp Minnie-Mickey! We were dauntless in our quest, as we had never been to this show before! Emily had so enjoyed Tarzan Rocks last year, we had to see LK this year! This show is everything you’ve already heard! We were very pleased (elephants)! Emily, tired as she, was danced to the music!
We bussed back to POR for much needed R&R before our big night at MNSSHP!
After Mom & Emily had a little swim & I had a rest, we ALL forced a nap! We then got our costumes on & headed for the bus stop. After a few funny looks from the non-costumed guests, we caught the bus for the MK. I wore a pirate’s garb with sword, three-point hat & a lime green sash!

Contrary to all the warnings I had heard about not being able to take a sword into the MK, the only comment I got from security was I couldn’t use it at the dinner table! Jody was a medieval princess with long velvet gown, hanging sleeves & a long (hot) headpiece.

One guest at the bus stop put it simply with “Those look hot” I refrained from saying ‘not me, I’m not wearing any underwear’

but bit my tongue (I’m just kidding ya know)! The only one of us who got away without heat stroke was Emily with her skimpy Jasmine costume, which she finally decided on (we had only packed three for her to pick from LOL)!
We ran into Donald, Chip & Dale on the way into the MK. We got our wristbands about 5 PM & headed for our 5:45 LTT PS. We were checked in by ghoulishly made up colonial staff members

& waited in the great room with the likes of Snow White & the Seven Dwarves with the Wicked Queen. Emily (a Snow White expert) steps up to the queen with her apple in hand & says “we don’t eat apples from the Wicked Queen!” We were seated & visited by Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto & Goofy in their colonial garb along with Halloween masks! The food was good as usual. We knew that there were a few DISers with PSs that night, so when Jody heard one proclaiming his quest for his fellows, I went in search of him. Who should I meet but Trekker (Ron) & his 12 yo DD Katie! She was a cute black cat,

but I was aghast, as Ron was another PIRATE!

I wanted to go home & change my dress, but since I was there first, I held my ground! Ron pointed out another DISer, dgaston & family. I’m sorry we didn’t meet up later during our vacation. Good meal of turkey, ham, beef & the traditional mashed potatoes & mac & cheese.
After dinner, my family & Ron’s decided to hunt for candy together.

We had a great time at the party! The two DDs hit it off really well. I think they were equally taken with each other. Katie loved doting on Emily & Emily loved the attention from the older sister she wished she had! Ron & I were (scary as it might be), like long lost old friends! This began a ritual between Ron & me of harassing, kidding, complimenting & just plain bugging many, many CMs that we ran into the rest of the trip!

We kept cutting queues with our sword & hailing our fellow pirates as we passed in the night! We of course HAD to ride PoC ‘cause us old salt’s have the sea in our blood ARG MATEY! When it was time for the parade we tried to make it back to the ice cream parlor for a mini-meet at 8:45 but the headless horseman cut us off. The parade had started! We watched from across the street from the parlor. As soon as the parade had ended, I went across the street about 5 to 9. I paraded around with my lime green sash prominently waving but no one answered my signal. (Maybe it’s good no one DID answer my signal!!) The Trekker & yepod clans regrouped & prepared for the fireworks over the castle. The music for the fireworks started normally when all of a sudden the castle went black & it wasn’t Tink that we saw fly from the castle!

BWAHAHAHA. The fireworks with the 360-degree effect were as excellent as at MVMCP! The yepods were all tired so we headed out of the park. Emily was not thrilled to be leaving her Katie for the night.

We left the Trekker clan, only to spend the next 4 days re-affirming our growing friendship! We were very fortunate to meet such a great family & feel honored to have made such nice friends!Day 4 Are you crazy?

She might be a strop-thrower but your little princess ain't 'alf cute with it! I cried tears laughing at the breakfast bit - strippers at Disney, whatever next! Can't wait to read and see!

katie and Emily sisterhood.....makes me so happy for them.....I am hoping that we do LTT right before the Christmas party.....sounds good to me.......Thanks so much for your report and your friendship with Ron and his daughter......sounds fantastic to me

I can't wait to try Donald's Breakfastasaurus next trip. I just hope that our little prince keeps his pants up -- lol. Sounds like the Halloween party was great fun. It must have been neat to meet up with a fellow diser who was also a fellow pirate to boot!

I understand that if you have a ps for Breakfastosaurus first seating and make it to the gate before anyone else, you get a great surprise.

I thought the CM interaction there was great but the food wasn't too good.

I get to see Ron in a week, he's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to meeting his son.
