Day 20 – Typhoon Lagoon or “Where have you been???”
Thursday 25th July 2002.

Cast:
Me- Morven (aka Undylad)
Suzanne – DW
Kerri – DD (7)
Liam – DS (5) - the chicken strip eater.

Early start insisted by me after our late arrival the other day at Blizzard Beach, I felt had slightly spoiled the day. I was up and off for the coffe by 07:00am. When I got back both the kids were up and dressed and having their breakfast. There must have been a fire alarm while I was out! :)

We were out of the door by 08:20 and arrived at Typhoon Lagoon about 10 minutes before the park opened. My first impressions were that there was a lot more shade in the queuing areas that Blizzard Beach. We set up base camp at Ketchakidde Creek. We did some of the rides to the left of the Wave Pool together. Kerri and I headed for the right-hand side to look for faster flumes for Kerri. Well, we did them all!!!! Kerri really impressed me!! She did not bat an eyelid at any of the flumes. She then spotted Shark Reef. We initially had some technical problems on the first run with Kerri’s mask then we had problems with her snorkel but when all those were sorted, she had a great time. She crossed the reef at least five times. I thought it was time we checked in with Suzanne, just in case they had gone home in the mean time. They were still there but Suzanne was not a happy bunny and looked rather bored. I did not realise that we had been away for almost 4 hours. Liam on the other hand was having a great time with the few new friends. Kerri and Suzanne headed off to experience the Wave Pool. When they came back Suzanne advised me to leave my sunglasses behind. Very good advice that! Wow, those are might big waves. Hunger was getting the better of us all, so we had decided to call it a day. I had noticed a sign for Funnel Cakes earlier on my travels and Suzanne said that she wanted to try one. Hmmmm, what a great taste, lovely.

We got back to the hotel room and opened a few beers for us and some juices for the kids and we all pigged out on chips. Both Suzanne and myself dozed and the kids just chilled out in the room, everyone enjoying the air con. We headed to the FC for dinner. Liam did have chicken strips!!. After dinner the children went to play in the playground and we did some people watching in the covered seating area just down for the hotel bar. I updated the trip reports and Suzanne read. The kids came back wanting to go to Andy’s Room; they then said that they wanted to go back to the room. As we headed back the biggest storm so far broke. In bed for about ten minutes and the kids were fast asleep. A great day, I do prefer Typhoon Lagoon to Blizzard Beach though.

Tomorrow – Magic Kingdom (just one more time).
