Today we decided to do EE at MGM. On the way out we decide to make a PS for O'hanas tonight. We have never eaten here. Been to the luau but had always heard great things about O'hanas. Figure what the heck, let's give it a try. Up and out and we are at MGM by 8:00 this morning. The boys head off to ride RNRR and TOT while Michelle, Camryn, and I hit Starring Rolls for some breakfast. They are good but for the life of me I can't understand why they call them Pecan Rolls when all they had were walnuts on them. Some milk and coffee and we watch the birds starting to congregate in mass. These birds can spot a crumb that falls from 50 yards away. Soon the boys are back after riding both rides and decide that they too would like some danishes. A grand total of $18.12 and we are off to explore the day. All week we have been intending to catch a couple more shows at MGM. Today is that day.
First off Bear in the Big Blue House. Michelle Camryn, and I go to see this while the boys hit TOT and RNRR some more. They just can't seem to get enough of these two. We are in for the first show of the day. All the kids are up and dancing to this one. I keep hearing talk of shutting this down, but I hope not. It is always packed and is very well orchestrated. Now the boys catch up with us and we head to Indiana Jones. We have done this show each time we have been here. The first two times were really great, but until they change it, I can skip it from now on. We now head for Muppets and have absolutely no wait. As we leave here it is time to have lunch where Sugar Booger has been asking for all week. Pizza Planet. I ordered three Pepperoni Pizza's and two Cheese Pizza's. Had to have the Pizza Planet collectors cups for all the kids also. Total for this meal comes to $41.26. Now I have eaten my share of pizzas in my day, but the ones that Sugar Booger made during her Grand Adventures in Cooking class just beat these all to heck. Lesson learned. Great concept and packaging but lousy food.
We now head back to the Dolphin and get the kids settled down for some rest. We are planning on doing the late Fantasmic show tonight and need everyone well rested. That is except for Mom and Dad. While they rest, it's off to Marketplace for us. We had postponed all of our souvenir shopping until today. Wanted to make sure that we knew exactly what we wanted and this afternoon was our chance. The kids had already done their souvenirs. For the last six months, we have paid them part of their allowance in Disney Dollars. This was for them to use on arcade games, sourvenirs, etc.. They felt so much more pride in buying their own souvenirs than having us just give them something. That way they picked out what they wanted on their own terms. Anyway, where was I. Oh yes shopping. We hit the World of Disney store. Break out the Disney Club card, get that 10% off and now we get a chance to wander around just a little bit without the kids. By the way, you can also get 10% off at the Christmas Store. Grab another Mickey Bar and its time to head back to the hotel.
We get everyone moving and get ready to head out to dinner. We take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and hop on the monorail for a ride to the Polynesian. Jordan and Sugar Booger request to ride up front again and we are on our way. We arrive a little early and have time to snoop around the Ceremonial House for awhile. Eventually we go and checkin at the restaurant and are soon seated. They bring the appetizers almost before we have even sat down. The little shrimp wontons are wonderful. Just as we start to do some damage here, the skewers start arriving. Now I have eaten a lot on this trip, but in no way was I prepared for the amount of food they were shoveling onto my plate. If you are not absolutely stuffed when you leave here, it is your own fault. The shrimp were extra tasty. Between Devon and I we probably ate fifty of these little crustaceans. This on top of the steak, turkey, and pork. All of which were wonderful. They also had several kinds of sauce to dip your skewered meat in. I particularly like the Peanut Sauce. A little spicy, but oh so tasty. Camryn however after trying each could not find anything to her satisfaction. Our waitress brought her some macaroni and cheese along with chicken fingers and she was in heaven. For desert we were served up the fresh pineapple and caramel dipping sauce. You would have thought we had never eaten before. As full as we all were, the pineapple was devoured in record time. Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent. Also during the meal there was a gentleman strolling around singing. He was very good and entertaining. The kids also participated in the hula hoop wiggling and the coconut races. What a way to finish off the week. Total came to $115.00 with tip.
We waddled our way out to the bus stop and were soon heading back to MGM. We arrived at 9:00 and headed back to Fantasmic. The CM there told us that the 10:30 show never fills up and for us to go have fun and come back around 10:00. Time for one last trip on TOT and then on to the show. The 10:30 show did in fact not fill the theatre. Everyone was able to sit down and the end sections had no one in them. I thought it was a very good show. A little less time projecting images on the water screen and a little more action for me and it would be perfect. As we leave I figure it will take us forever to catch a boat back to the hotel. To my surprise, there is one boat leaving, another docking and three more stacked up behind them just waiting. Back to the hotel in record time and off to slumberland because tomorrow we head for home.
