We leave for our first Disney cruise on the 1/6/05 Wonder and have read so many great tips on these boards. We plan to arrive when the terminal opens, eat lunch, and take our DS8 to swim in the Mickey pool. We're just trying to decide which restaurant to eat lunch at the first day: Beach Blanket Buffet or Parrot Cay. We love the idea of eating outside at BBB but the shrimp at Parrot Cay sound pretty enticing. We'd love to hear previous cruiser's opinions.

If you board early, I would recommend swimming first (when the pools are empty). You can always eat later when the crowds have died down in the restaurants. In the mean time, tame the "hungries" snacking at Pluto's and Scoops next to the pools.

When we were on the Wonder in July we went to Topsiders and they had shrimp there too.

Parrot Cay and Beach Blanket Buffet (or Topisders on the Magic) serve the same thing the first day. We always opt to go up and eat outside. Really gets us in the mood for the cruise.

You could go up to Beach Blanket Buffet and grab a tray and take it outside and eat around the pool while your DS plays in the pool. If he's like my kids, he'll be too excited to eat lunch anyway. And then he can grab a snack at the snack bar later.

Thanks for all the great responses. I think the idea of eating outside while the kids are in the pool will be perfect for us.
