The Going to Gatwick Day!
Enz picked the children up from school at lunch-time and we left home at 1.30 after a sandwich bonanza lunch using all the leftovers.
As Enz loaded the luggage into the car we realised that one of the suitcases was falling apart! Quick trip to Tescos no suitcases!! Rang M & S at Fosse Park and they had some luggage in stock great because we had to go by there anyway to get to the motorway. We wheeled the broken case into M & S and managed to buy a ½ price case - £50 from £100 phew!! Put the packed case into the new one job done
Onto the M1 at 2.30.
We arrived at Gatwick at 4.30 & were checked in and back to the car by 5.10! Speedy!! We checked into the Premier Lodge and then returned to the airport for tea and to meet Jo (PoohBears#1Fan) & family, and Sam (AmazingGrace) & family.
We ate at Pizza Express wed eaten here the night before our previous trip so I announced this as being a family tradition
Total incl tips £58.00.
I had a wander round the shops with Gabs whist Enz & Gianni had the obligatory visit to the arcades.
After a few text messages we met up with Jo & Sam in Wetherspoons for drinks. Gianni felt lonely because there was no-one his age, but Gabs had a chat and a walk round the airport with Holly & Rachael.
We all decided to say our farewells at about 9.30 but of course Gianni had to have a couple more goes in the arcarde!
Back to the hotel for 10.15.
