Davy's in Wonderland! The TR of a little boy's dream!

Day 3 was a very long day- in more ways than one. It started out good, went ugly real fast and then got good again. We didn't tell DD what her surprise was until right before, so I'm not gonna tell you either! :rotfl2: You'll just have to wait- just like she did! :goodvibes

Today was our first Magic Kingdom day!! Hurray! We got up early because I wanted to take Davy to the Harmony Barbershop for his very first haircut! I had this planned out for months, and it didn't quite go as planned. <sigh>

We got to the MK right after rope drop- I wanted to be there FOR rope drop, but my family is pokey. But either way, we were there.
We headed straight for the barbershop- to wait in line for what seemed like forever. It was already very hot and the line moved very slowly. The kids were kinda whiny and who could blame them? :confused3 There was no room inside to sit- the place is tiny!! And people were crammed in like sardines already, so I told DH and DD to go do whatever on Main St so they wouldn't have to wait with us. This is who they met:

Finally it was Davy's turn! (Aleks wanted to do Pixie Dust, but I told her she would have to shower as soon as we got back to the resort or no swimming and she quickly changed her mind. lol)

We asked Nana to video taped the moment, so I could take pics and Daddy could stay with Davy, holding his hand. She agreed. About halfway through Davy's haircut, she fell over the floor mat and hit the ground! :scared1: We helped Nana up, but she said she hurt her ankle. The employees apparently had no idea what to do, so they told her the first aid place was around the corner..... how helpful. :headache: She didn't want to ruin Davy's moment, so she hobbled down there unassisted. I felt bad for her, but she knew I didn't want to miss Davy's first haircut. I will update on Nana's condition after Davy's haircut pics.

First the barber covered him in Mickey Mouse stickers!

DSCF3351.jpg
DSCF3352.jpg

Then the cutting began. He doesn't look to shaggy here, but that's because his hair was all stuck to his head with sweat. Yucky!

DSCF3356.jpg
DSCF3357.jpg

I love the sticker on his toe here- I dunno, it just tickles me!

DSCF3358.jpg

Look how attentive his Daddy is here- awww.... never left his side! You can see him in the corner. He earned his ears!! He also got a certificate of bravery and I got some of his hair. It was a great deal too- about $20 with tip!

DSCF3360.jpg

As for Nana- we went down to the first aid station, where she was sitting with ice on her foot. It was swelling quite nicely too, I might add. :sad1: Poor Nana. They took her to some crappy "quick care" place where she sat for a couple of hours. We stayed at the park, as she told us to, rather than waiting around with her- but more on that later. They refused to take her to the emergency room which is where she requested to be taken. So after hours of waiting, they told her she indeed broke her foot and could not put any pressure on it!

Grrr.... They did bring her back to the resort, but she fell out the van when the jacka** driver didn't help her out of it! She almost broke something else that time.... I got her a wheel chair at the resort and took her back to the room. We left again for Aleks' surprise, Nana stayed behind and went through her personal h-e- double hockey sticks of a night. They had given her a prescription and the pharmacy was delivering it to the resort, but when it got to the front desk- they refused to bring it to her! She had called and asked if it had been dropped off and the desk person replied, "Yes- come get it." :headache: She told them she could not, as her foot was broken that morning at the Magic Kingdom- they looked up our room number in the computer and said, "well, it shows that there are 2 other adults in your room- send one of them down to get it for you." :mad:WTH?!?! Disney magic my butt!! Needless to say, my dearest mommy gave him an earful and a half and told him to find someone to deliver it and now please- because she didn't make us stay in the room with her and ruin the kids vacation!! My mommy can be very, uhhhh.... persuasive- yeah, persuasive, when she gets angry. She got her meds and took them, but that was not the end of her night- oh no!

The fire alarm in our room, and our room only, kept going off! She was freaking out!! She kept calling me asking what she should do? She couldn't walk and was afraid the place was on fire. She said the front desk wouldn't answer and she knew they wouldn't come get her anyway. (BTW- she really bites at getting around on crutches...) All this was while we were at Aleks' surprise night. Kinda ruined parts of it... (I was crying at one point as she was yelling at me like it was my fault- while we were waiting in line of all place) she was supposed to be there and couldn't and now all this too. Eventually, the front desk answered and told her not to worry, it was just a faulty fire alarm and someone would soon fix it. They didn't say she would have to wait an hour, but.... and it kept going on and off the entire wait- and that thing is LOUD! Anyway- it was fixed and she finally went to bed.

And yes, she apologized for yelling at me when we got back. She was just very upset and I can understand that, but I couldn't really help her from a park could I? It would have taken me over an hour to get from the park back to our room at the resort and by that point, it would have been too late anyway. Lovely night, huh?

And guess what? She never even turned the camera on!!!:headache: So I didn't get any of his first haircut on tape. She was backing up instead of using the zoom on the camera and now I know why- it wasn't on!!! So not only did I loose that great moment in history- I lost our chance at winning America's Funniest Home Videos too! And yes, I gave her a lesson on how to use it before this moment.

Ok... next installment will be what we did while Nana was having her foot x-rayed and Aleks' big surprise!

La ti da.... I am just bored tonight- but I don't feel like adding to the TR right now. Hmmm..... I am still all excited about my recent dining changes and DH seems pretty happy with them too. :goodvibes I think Davy will like O'Hana too- I just found out that they have dipping sauces! He is very into dipping things into various sauces lately. :rotfl2: He loves to lick ketchup and bbq sauce and stuff off of what he is supposed to be eating. Its funny. Anyway- its bed time! Night all..

Poor Nana! That is so horrible how they wouldnt go up there and give her, her medicine. Then the fire alarm. Oh I can really feel her pain.

Poor Nana! What a night! I love the Mickey stickers all over him & especially on his toe! I can't wait to bring Shelby get hers done.

It really sucks you didn't get it all on video!

Nana has survived all her tribulations rest assured... It really wasn't all that bad of a break... but more on that later. She is so healed as a matter of fact, she is helping me wrangle the kids to church tomorrow so I don't have to by myself. :yay:

The haircuts there are really cool. I may have to let him do it again on our next trip. Its really about the same price as at home, but they will sprinkle him with pixie dust this time. Dunno if he will sit through it as willingly this time though. He hates hair cuts now.... go figure. :confused3 Maybe its because he wants stickers on his toes again? :lmao:

I LOVE the first haircut pics! Your kiddos are adorable. I'm glad you posted about the Kimmunicator thingy, because we were thinking of doing it for Maya, but now I'm thinking that she's probably too young to "get it." You mentioned something about pixie dust from the barber shop - what exactly is that? I was thinking BBB for the girls, but really didn't want to spend the money, but if there is something for girls at the barber shop, maybe I could do that for them?

At any rate, I'm loving your TR!:goodvibes

Why thank yo very much! The pixie dust at the barber shop is free!!! :wizard: The sprinkle glitter all over your head and declare you pixie dusted. Its cute. For I think it was $5 you can have them spray you hair with colors and pixie dusted. The cuts are about $15 I wanna say- but if you bring a tiara with you, they will usually do it "up" like at BBB. I guess it depends on how busy they are, but most of the time they will if you ask them. I bet with it being a WISH trip, they would do it no problem!! :goodvibes

The kimmunicator was fun, and worth the time. You can kinda help them out, but still let them run around with the phone. They will think they are very grown up with it running around the park! :rotfl: I did get kinda irritated with it though, since a few of the clues we got were vague- but I have heard most are relatively easy.

I hope to add to my TR later this week. Been busy with family and such... and just feeling kinda lazy I guess. I know this is for my own good- so that I will remember it all later in better details... but after fininshing my big give project this week, finishing up the girl scout cookie season and starting Davy's doodlebug class and Aleks' dancing diva class and more... I am pooped! It has all been great fun, but very tiring!

I need to finish MK day one! But here's a pic I love from it!

DSCF3381.jpg

Its a funny pic of their first ride on the teacups! And I forgot to mention- we are all wearing our matching mickey mouse head tye dye shirts we made from instructions here on the dis! :woohoo: The kids shirts def turned out way better than me and DH's, but its ok- at least my kids looked great!! :goodvibes

Well, after leaving Nana at the

We left for some fun! (And yes, we all felt bad for Nana- but she said to go and do stuff with the kids- so we did.)

Then we met the Mayor!

And made our way to the teacups!!

Next was Dumbo!

Davy was very unhappy after Dumbo. :sad1: So we took him over to the water play area and he was happy again! :goodvibes This was by the Little Mermaid- who we skipped, seeing as we had already seen her with legs previously.

We decided it was very hot at this point and to head back to the resort for some rest before Aleks' big surprise!!!
On our way, Aleks made a wish!

DSCF3394.jpg

Daddy took his own pic:

DSCF3395.jpg

Crazy sky behind him too huh?

And we caught part of a show too!

DSCF3399.jpg
DSCF3400.jpg

Ok. Enough for now.... can't believe I am still on day 3!!!! Geez! We did a lot and I remember a lot too!! :woohoo:

Looks like I'm writing to myself again..... :sad1:

Anywho! We went back to our resort and got Nana back as well with a wheelchair and crutches and a pretty bad mood.... but she eventually came around. We all rested some and got lunch at the Pop cafeteria. Davy fell asleep!

So cute and tired!

After that- we told Aleks what her surprise was! Finally!!!

We told her, "You're going to the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight and you're dressing up as Hannah Montana!!!" Needless to say she freaked out! :cool1:
Nana had a ticket as well, but def could not go. So that was $50 blown! :headache:

We left the resort with the kiddos all dressed up in their Halloween finery, with a few odd stares from those not in the know! Davy was dressed up in a skeleton onsie and shorts. We got to the park and everything had been transformed from that morning into a Halloween wonderland!! It was very exciting to say the least! We got our arm bands and trick-or-treat bags and went in.

Oh look! It's Hannah Montana!! Everyone kept asking her if the hair was real!! Lol... she thought they were serious and told them all yes! (halfway through the hot night, the wig came off and she claimed to be Miley Cyrus then! lol)

We went to our ADR at Liberty Tree Tavern next and saw Donald Duck outside- and he is sooooo my hero!! We got a great family pic, except Aleks looks like she is sucking on a lemon.

The food at Liberty Tree was excellent! I loved the turkey and stuffing! The waiter was also great- he gave Davy a light-up Lightening McQueen car because it was his birthday! He also gave Aleks a Tinkerbell one so she could celebrate with him! How sweet. They were very happy. There was also another birthday cupcake and singing to him and also another boy had his birthday there too. We later sat next to them during the parade and got to know them better. He had an awesome mickey mouse birthday cake delivered to the restaurant.

Next we headed out just in time for the Halloween festivities! We got out our maps and I made sure the first thing we did was head over to Tomorrow Land, where rumor had it (at least here on the Dis) that they were giving away Star Wars musical toothbrushes at a trick or treat station! We got one each and an extra for my brother too!

We then went to the Goofy's Dance Party!

Sorry the pics aren't too great- but the light was weird.
All the characters are in costume!!! Its great! I danced my booty off with Goofy! Goofy wasn't all that great character interaction wise here, he kept trying to get away from everyone and ignored many little kids in the process, but I guess he was very hot.

Kids:

We then did some trick or treating and headed over to Toontown and Aleks got to ride her first ever roller coaster! Goofy's barnstormer. She loved it. She wanted to ride again, but I reminded her that we were here to do party stuff that she can never do again. The roller coaster will still be there tomorrow- the special stuff will not! She was ready to rock then.

Inside Mickey's house:

We were in line to meet none other than the mouse himself! (Then my mom calls with the fire alarm thing- were we almost leave and I ended up hanging up on her for yelling at me and blah blah blah). Then!!!

We didn't make it to see Minnie. John had run off to a potty break and we met up with him after the pic.

Then we did some more trick or treating and went through the candy trail. We saw lots of cool stuff there! The deck of cards from Alice in Wonderland - I can't find the pics, sorry!

But I have this one:

Then we went to ride the Haunted Mansion- you have to ride that on the party night- duh! I really wanted the special photopass shot with the carriage and ghosts, but the line was longer than any line I have ever seen at Disney! Even longer than the line to see all 7 of the dwarves and Snow White that night!!

After than we went to find a spot for the fireworks. They were spectacular!!! Our pics from that are horrible, but it was so cool the way the castle lit up in Halloween colors and the music!!! Ack! It was great!!!

And then came the parade!!! One of the best Disney parades ever!!

And first the Headless horseman comes "running" through. He was going pretty slow by the time he passed us, but I can't find the pic right now. I got a pretty good one too. But we had a camera, 2 cell phones we were taking pics with and the video camera with pics too- it could be anywhere at this point! The parade was definitely a highlight of the trip. Wish Nana could have been there with us.

We made it back to the resort really late. And we were still excited- because, it was Davy's First Birthday the next day!!! Hurray!!

Next up- Davy's Birthday and Nana attempts crutches and drives us all nuts with her scooter!

I'm here!!! Glad to hear Nana is ok!

OMG HANNAH MONTANA!!!! How awesome!!! You must have been the coolest mom ever!!!! My 7 yr old son would love that, but I am NOT dressing him up as Hannah!

Hurray! Someone is still reading! I know Pipersmom would be, but she is at the hospital right now- so she gets a free pass for now.

That day, I think was one of my DD's fav things about the whole trip. It was hard to keep it from her for so long! And even worse- I'm keeping her birthday trip to Universal Studios a secret too. I'm already planning!! And her next birthday isn't until Feb 2011!!! :goodvibes She is a huge Harry Potter fan.... although not as big of a nut as me.... It will be great!

You guys should sooo go to a halloween party there. So cool!

There is NO WAY I could have kept that a secret!!!!

We would love to go, but the boys have school, so I don't see Halloween at Disney anytime soon :(

I let her skip school- yeah, I know- bad mommy! :lmao: But it was too great of a deal!! We got free dining and we got to go to MNSSHP and for Davy's first birthday- can't beat it! It was Sept, and she missed like 3 days of school. The school refused to excuse the absences officially, but it never hurt her grades. She is usually an A student, so it really didn't matter. Now it may in the future, but in 3rd grade- eh! I talked to her teacher and it was all cool. :goodvibes

Love the photos!!! I am so glad Aleks had such a good time. Those wigs are HOT! My daughter was Hannah Montana for Halloween 3 years ago...before Hannah was HUGE...some poor little lady asked her who she was and my daughter says "Hannah Montana" the little old lady replies with"no hunny who are you dressed up as for Halloween?" my poor kid didn't know what to say...:rotfl: Hope Nana gets to feeling better!!

Those wigs are hot and I pre-warned her too. It was even hotter down there in Fl, and I'm in Ga- so we know hot, but I wasn't expecting that in Sept!

I can't believe the lady didn't know Hannah!! My kiddo has been an addict for over 3 years- we just let her get the costume that year cause we found it at the Disney store super cheap right before the trip. It was perfect timing!

And Nana is just fine. She broke her foot, but they misdiagnosed which bone at the dr office they sent her too down there. She could have walked on it!!!!!!!!!!!! :headache::headache: When we got home her orthopedic surgeon was like, "You didn't break ___, you broke a completely different bone." There was no need for all the crap we went through. She still could not have done the party that night, but she would have been fine with a ankle brace.....

sigh, but such is life!

I'm here. Great updates. I soooo wish I could make the Halloween party in WDW.

Poor Nana.

Hurray! You are here!! :cool1:

Everyone needs to do the Halloween party!!! I wanna go again! It was the best. I have heard its a much better party than the Christmas one. A better value I know- the Christmas one you get allyou can eat sugar cookies and cocoa, but how much of those can you really eat? At least with the Halloween party- you can take your loot home! :goodvibes

Oh, I'm sold on it. Maybe I'll get lucky and the schools will have a some days off next year... and I can convince my wife.
