Davy's in Wonderland! The TR of a little boy's dream!

I just found your TR - and want more! I'm at the end.....Hopefully there will be picutures of Nana in the scooter!

thanks for posting.

I have no idea what the big red box is either, but I can't wait to hear more when it comes! Anything Disney is sure to pack a lot of fun and excitement!

Loved reading about Davy's b-day, and the pics on the carousel are precious. :goodvibes Sounds like a great start to his 1st b-day!

Have a great time at the zoo today! I have all the kids home today, and I have no idea what we are going to do!

It's spring break here too. I have no plans for the rest of the week. :confused3 DH works nights, so he will be asleep most of the time. He took off 2 days of it. Today being one of them, but it will be me and the kids the rest of it. <sigh> I love them, but I could pull my hair out today. They are driving me buggers. Davy is being clingy and Aleks is just up my booty..... not literally, she just won't quit following me around.

Welcome to my TR!

Have a great time at th e zoo

Welp, things have changed yet again in my little household. We will be doing the zoo tomorrow- and yes, there will be pics! :goodvibes DH wasn't feeling too grand and I have a dr apt anyway.... I was going to cancel and reschedule it, but might as well go as the pollen count is like, 1600 here and I am allergic to most of it...

As for Nana and her scooter pics- there are a few. Not too many now that I think of it- Not nearly enough! :lmao: I have one really good one and I am sooo gonna change her facebook picture to it! She won't even know it til later! :rotfl2: She rarely checks her facebook- usually at my house.

Aight.... this bites! Our A/C is down... and in case you didn't already know- I live in GA and its hot here. Its 86 and muggy humid today. Bleh!! My baby boy is sweating like crazy- he is very hot natured and is hating our house right now. :sad1: Poor little guy. I am letting him run around in a diaper....

The A/C guy is supposed to be coming today.... but he hasn't called yet to say he is on his way. :scared1: Pray for me people! I can't take much more of this heat.... my pooh sized figure doesn't tolerate heat well. I also hope this doesn't cost too much. I am not working still and don't have the unlimited funds to fix this like I wish we did.... sigh.

Did I mention it's hot yet?

I feel your pain. I really do. I live in South Florida and it is hot here. But right now its actually nice. I hope it doenst cost you an arm and a leg to fix it.

Welp, A/C man came and went.... we stillhave no A/C! grrrrr :headache: He had no idea what was wrong with it. He said it should be working- he saw nothing to solve why it isn't. He is going to call one of his friends and have them look at it. That guy hasn't called us yet. At least the other guy was very honest with us and didn't charge us for his trip either. :thumbsup2 Hopefully the other guy will call and it will be solved soon. Another plus, it is supposed to cool back off this week and even rain on Thur- so a big plus there!

In other news:

- We went to the Atlanta Zoo today! (so nothing in comparison to the Cincinnati Zoo I used to go to.... but the kids had a blast and I will post pics either tonight or tomorrow).

- My big red box came in from Disney while we were gone!!!! :cool1: It is so super cool! It has all kinds of goodies for me to throw a "What will you celebrate?" party in it. It even had a super cute Mickey Moms Club purse type bag in it for me! (And Davy's fav- red Mickey Mouse head balloons!!!) I will post pics later of this as well! So be looking for more posts!

We left decently early this morning to head over to the zoo- and it was just that- a ZOO!! It was crazy trying to park. They have a tiny little parking lot for the Atlanta Zoo. Had I known that, we would have left even earlier. Oh well though- such is life! So we walked from waaaaay down the road and got in line to get our annual pass. Davy will love going back with mommy later while Aleks is at school and all summer at her mom's house. And of course, we have to go back at least a billion times since they both love animals!

When we first got in, we saw a panda!

Then we headed to the elephants! Here is elephant Aleks and Davy!

The elephants! Well, one elephant- the others were too far away to get a good pic.

To the petting zoo!

We did lots of stuff today. We even tried to feed the budgies.... parakeets. Lots of them! They weren't too hungry today I take it and you had to get the food really close to them before they would even think about eating it.....

DSCF4268.jpg

Davy LOVED feeding them! He knew exactly what to do. It was super cute. He smiled lots while feeding the cute birdies.

The Pandas!!! I  pandas! I have more pics, just uploaded one though...

DSCF4234.jpg

Sometime this year they are getting a tiger exhibit! That will be really neato. Davy loves "kees" (kitties).

Me and Aleks as kangaroos:

We also went in the learning center and did lots of other stuff. The kids enjoyed it. It actually didn't feel too hot today. It hit 88, but it wasn't as humid- so that was great! And we know for next time, that we can bring a picnic basket and eat there or at Grant Park right next to the zoo. We hit the drive thru(s) on the way home.... yes- drive thrus.... I was nice today and willing to get what they each wanted- I figured it was a special day!

This is Davy when we left. He was so tired, he pointed to his stroller and climbed in and passed out. He has so much fun though. Next time, we will have to take him on the train and carousel. We decided not to do those today, so we would have something to look forward to on our next visit.... and we had already blown enough cash on the annual pass too.... :goodvibes

Here is my tuckered out baby:

I love the zoo pictures!! I am a little biased with my favorite zoo, the Cincinnati zoo :cool1: I love going there! And, I admit when we go to other zoos sometimes I feel cheated since Cincinnati's zoo is so big. But still I love it!! Our favorite animals are the polar bears!! By the time we leave our little ones are usually passed out or do so as soon as we hit the car!!

I sooooo miss the Cincinnati Zoo!!!! We used to go all the time when we lived up there. I loved the polar bears as well. I vividly remember the elephant enclosures there too. And yes, this zoo was so piddly compared to it, but I didn't want to burst the kids bubbles.... :rotfl2: I remember watching that TV show as a kid that was filmed in the Cincinnati zoo too! With Jack.... something. I can't remember his name... but I remember the theme song slightly... I was annoying DH with it earlier! :lmao: I love how they have cold weather animals up there. Penguins and polar bears and more water animals and a better snake house.... I could go on, but it just makes me miss the Cincinnati Zoo more... and I won't be there probably again. :sad1:

There is so much to do up here! I know a lot of people who make weekend trips out of Cincinnati. We have Kings Island, the zoo, an aquarium, the Reds, Great Wolf Lodge, and Beach waterpark. Just to name a few! ;) So it could happen!

I know! We used to have season passes to Kings Island too..... do they still have the smurf beary blue ice creama nd the smurf ride?!? I used to LOVE it! Can you tell I was in like 3rd grade then? :lmao: I still make my kids watch the smurfs.... and the snorks! :rotfl2:
Last time we were in Cincinnati- we just drove through. It was on the way to pick up my step-daughter in MI... she now flies! That was a LONG drive from GA, let me tell you! But I made DH stop everywhere I used to eat on the way there and back!! I went to skyline chili, white castles and more! I was very full driving through Ohio.... white castle wasn't quite as good as I remembered, but the 5 way was still the sh*t man!!!! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: Man I could handle a 5 way right now.....

Hi Jen,
The zoo pics are great!!! Looks like a good time was had by all. We love going to the zoo. We live in DC, and our zoo is free. Pandas are one my faves, too! :thumbsup2 We just had to send one of our pandas back to china though, so that was sad. We haven't been to the zoo yet this spring, but I was thinking of a Daisy field trip soon!

I hope they get your A/C fixed soon...that's no fun.:sad2:

We still have no A/C...... :sad1: They dunno what's wrong with it as of yet. :confused3

Our zoo was good. We will def go back- kids like it even if I think it was dinchy! :rotfl: And it was good to get my pooh sized figure walking around a lot. I think I will be taking Davy a lot for that reason this summer! And to the park around it even! He will have a blast.

On today's agenda- return the late library books (why can't I ever returnt hem on time?) and maybe either the nature center, like you said! or maybe the Buford Damn..... hmmm.... sitting around on my duff sounds pretty priceless too though.. decisions, decisions! :lmao:

For those of you who remember- I got an e-mail last week saying I had been accepted to through a "what will you celebrate party?" for Disney. I had no idea what this entailed, beyond the fact that a Big Red Box would show up on my doorstep sometime soon- Guess what? It's here!!!!!!
I promised pics, so here we go!

We got home from the zoo and as we got out of the car Aleks screamed, "Look Jenn! Its your big red box!!" I was confused as poop at this point :confused3 and said "huh?". Then it dawned on me! Oh yeah! My big red box!! :cool1:It was funny. I think she was more excited than me. She asked if she could open it then and there, upon which I said, no. We had bought lunch and we needed to eat since it was already like 2 in the afternoon.
So after lunch- we opened it!

And yes, it really was a big red box sitting on my porch. I thought maybe it would be a regular shipping box with a red box in it, but no- it was literally a Big Red Box... excuse the toys and stuff in the pics... my kiddos aren't the cleanest things in the world (come to think of it- neither is my house!)

DSCF4316.jpg

The box, in fact, was big! It's like 12 inches high, 24 inches long and 16 inches wide. And weighs lat least 10 lbs! And it is filled with goodies!!!

The opened box,

The cute little purse sitting on top just for me!

The gift bags for people attending:

They each have a Mickey head crazy straw and a magnet set with little castle board to stick them on inside the bag.

A bingo game to play that has the resorts, parks and movies instead of B-I-N-G-O. It's super cute, despite the lame-o pick.

DSCF4303.jpg

A pic with the Disney Trivia game, mickey straw and bag. And the cootie catcher craft kit- its actually a dream catcher in this one, but everyone knows what a cootie catcher is.....

DSCF4304.jpg

A pic of the Mouse ear hats and coloring books, with crayons that came in the Big Red Box as well!

DSCF4305.jpg

Kiddo in ears modeling them for me!

DSCF4307.jpg
DSCF4308.jpg

There is a card matching game on each ear set as well. The pic of these didn't turn out too hot.... so I will skip that one.

25 big red Mickey Mouse ear balloons too!

DSCF4310.jpg

And a print type thing will all the princesses on it to give out as well!

DSCF4314.jpg

Also, it has invitations you can print out, came with napkins and confetti everywhere. Pretty neat for a Big Red Box!! Now to have my party and watch the Dvd it came with as well! Davy loves watching it.

So, who wants to come to my party?! It also came with Disney themed recipes!

OMG! Just found your TR and I couldn't stop reading! You have a lovely family, sorry about Nana! You are so lucky to have gotten a BIG red box! Looking forward to an update!:yay:

I want to come!!! How did you get signed up for this??? I must know!! :goodvibes

I was sent an e-mail from the mickey moms club telling me the first 1,000 people to reply with the right answers, would receive a Big Red Box. That's pretty much all it said. I had just been lucky enough to check my e-mail that morning and had just received the e-mail like 5 minutes before! :goodvibes Although it does have a card in the box that says, tell you friends about it and they can go to mickeymomsclub.com to hold their own party! I will double check the address later tonight. A/C guy is here now- hopefully he will fix it this time! Apparently the heat is kicking on instead of the A/C and vice versa..... ugh! :headache:

Why thank you! And :welcome: to my TR!!!

Should possibly be an update later today.... and I sooo have to get off the puter now... go talk to a/c guy!

Welp- still no AC and now DH has blown something up too trying to "fix" it himself. At least he hasn't electrocuted himself. But now we have to order the piece he made erupt into pretty sparks and smoke as I rounded the corner to check on him...... the piece is cheap, but no one will sell it to us since all the AC parts stores sell to are businesses. :confused3 Go figure.... so ebay here we come.... ugh! :headache:
