Davy's in Wonderland! The TR of a little boy's dream!

That is adorable! Shelby will be 11 months old in 2 hrs :( but is just now getting into 6-9 month clothes & still in a size 2 diaper! She's only 15 lbs! I'm not sure if the tutus would even fit her! I can't even get her princess dresses for Disney, since they don't run that small :(

This was Shelby when she saw Leo on tv..can you imagine her face when she sees him in person?

I know how that is! Davy is still in 12 month stuff, except he looks silly cause he so tall! :rotfl2: He is a skinny boy! He is tall and skinny like his daddy. 17 months old in 12 month pants! But he is a cutie!

You can make one to fit her!! There is a pic of a little 3 month old in one on the thread!! Its the cutest thing! :cutie: You just make it shorter and use less ribbon! That's what great about these- you can make any size. As a matter of fact, I am having to add 3 more inches to this one- I just grabbed DD pants out of the laundry and measured them! :lmao:

Go look!! Really! And its easy! And they show you how to make bows too. (with no slip grip ;))

Aight! Here's the pics of the completed tutu. As modeled by Aleks! :goodvibes

I think its pretty nifty and she is prancing around the house in it- so it must be a success! :rotfl:

And a close up of the skirt itself:

My mom now wants to sell them at work! HA!:lmao:

Love your TR!

My DS was the same way (and still is) about his height and weight. He's so tall but so skinny. I couldn't hardly find any pants to fit him as a baby and always had to put him in overalls. Thank goodness for the adjustable waist pants, LOL.

That tutu is adorable! I think your mom is right, you should try selling them.

Can't wait to read more!

We had just arrived and thrown all our stuff into the room and headed out the door once again- but this time for fun and a hopefully yummy dinner with princesses! :cool1:

We went out and away from the pool with all the screaming and playing kids, through the main building and out to the buses. I liked how easy it was to figure out which bus to take and not having to drive or pay for parking everyday. Quite the change from staying off property! The wait wasn't bad as it was about 5 p.m. at this point, and not crowded at all. It was however extra magic hours at Epcot that night, so it was a little crowded at the park, but not as bad as I expected. :goodvibes

We arrived at Epcot and made our way from the bus drop off- quite the hike I thought! Thank God we had a stroller for Davy! We got him all strapped in and headed in. It was a little confusing trying to get through security and stuff, being our first time in that way- but it was all good.

Aleks and Davy both stared in awe of the big dome in Future World when you walk in! They were floored I believe. :thumbsup2

DSCF3276.jpg

We wandered around Future World for a bit and noticed that Test Track had a short wait according to the sign- so we ran! Off for our very first ride of the vacation! We were very, very excited. :woohoo:
Nana took Davy for a walk as she had no interest what so ever in riding that "thing". :rotfl2: Good thing for her, cause that stinking sign lied!!! :headache: We stood in line over an hour to an hour and a half!! And if you have been on that ride, you know there is no way out of the line- no escape! Nana called my phone like 300 times wondering where we were... Oops- sorry Nana! I personally was more p'd that we might miss our ADR for Akershus.

But, we made it through the horrid- barely moving line eventually. Aleks simply LOVED that ride!!! She had a ball. I thought she would freak out when the car took off down the track to the outside and around the curve- but she was laughing and screaming happily the entire time. It was great- and almost worth the wait! :rotfl2:

At this point, we had to hurry and find Nana and head off the Akershus. BTW- if you didn't already know it, Akershus is way far away from Test Track- all the way across the park actually! We had to walk really fast and considering I had no idea where I was going and it was dark by this point- I was kinda snippy. (Imagine that right? ha! me snippy!)

We made it to Akershus Story Book Princess Dining!! And the line for ADRs was huge! I mean, whoa! While we were waiting to be called, I broke out some glow sticks for the kids to play with and we sat around and I took a pic of Aleks in front of the sign:

DSCF3271.jpg

We were called in and had our picture taken with Belle. I will have to add this pic later, gotta scan it first!
Aleks and Davy got their first autographs in their books. I think Aleks was ready to burst out of her own skin she was so happy! :goodvibes Davy was amused with all the attention he was getting.

We were seated at our table and ordered our drinks- Aleks got her Tink light-up drink for behaving so well in the car, while me and John split a light-up cube martini thing- Nana got one as well. I mean, hey- we behaved in the car too and wanted a treat! :lmao:

The food was excellent!! I loved the salmon there and I normally don't do salmon, but I figured I would try something new. Good choice! DH got the Kjottkaker (meatloaf type dish)- also yummy! Nana got the braised lamb which was to die for!!! Really! :worship: Very good stuff. I can't really remember what Aleks got- she was too busy looking at princesses to eat anyway! Davy loved the muenster cheese and the salad bar stuff as well as all of mommy and daddy's foods. He can be a little piggy sometimes! But he too was of course very interested in the princesses this night, so he didn't eat too much of his stuff either. The dessert tray rocked as well!!

Is it really Cinderella?

DSCF3257.jpg

I think she is still in shock here!

DSCF3259.jpg

She has been to Disney before, but with her grandparents (her mom's parents.... no comment) who made no effort to make sure she had a real "Disney" experience. They simply took her 2 months before we did, so that they could take her "first"..... I would curse here, but.... anyway.... on to better things...

My fav pic of the night! Davy and Aleks are sooo happy here!

DSCF3267.jpg

As you can tell, the night was all about Aleks. This was her night to be a princess with all the princesses! :cloud9: We did however, tell them it was Davy's first birthday and they brought him his first cupcake. He graciously split it with his sister! :cutie: They also brought him a birthday card signed by all the princesses!! How cute!

You gotta love the free dining package though!!! :woohoo: And it came with a picture package! Great deal! And awesome food to boot!. Although we did miss the Illuminations show- our ADR was during the show and you can't see out the windows at Akershus. I knew this while planning though, so it wasn't heart-breaking.

Thanks! Both my kiddos are skinny! Better than being "pooh sized" like mommy though. :rotfl: Daddy is tall and skinny too- lucky!

I mad another tutu today! Ha! Its addicting. This one is pink and light blue for Ashley, a little girl going on her Make A Wish trip to Disney!
Her PTR is here if anyone is interested! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2395656
She is a cutie- I will make one for her twin sister too. (Hopefully her mommy won't read this! lol) I plan to make a couple for the Big Give now!!

I was in tears when I saw the pic of her with Cinderella! How precious! Sounds like a great time! Can't wait to read more!

It was a great trip! I wish she were going with us this time too! :sad1: She has always loved the princesses- still does. Hopefully she still will when we take her back in Sept 2011!! A long time... sigh. But at least we get to go back!

I have read your TR and cant wait to read more I am excited to be doing my first TR and PTR for my oct trip :) and your kids are super cute :) I got tears with the both of them seeinf ariel :)

They are my cuties! Thanks a bunch! And wait til you see the next day!! Hint: Stitch is there! Ahhhhh! :lmao::lmao:

This TR is a bunch of fun too. I guess its a PTR too.... since we are going back soon- hurray! :cool1::cool1:

Eeks....you need to slow down..I missed way too many updates! :lmao: I LOVE the tutus..I need to look up that thread! Piper loved her pettiskirt, and wore it over leggings by itself instead of under a dress..LOL!

Guilty confession...I saw the pic of Aleks in the halter top and thought..it's winter..why is Jenn letting that kid wear a halter top ?!?!?!?? Then I remembered you're in Georgia! :rotfl2:

I love the trip details so far..Akershus was awesome for us too! The kids looked so happy in the piccies!

As far as the halter top thing- my crazy child decided to wear it as pjs for bed! :confused3 Whatever... I don't get it, but if she really wants to a halter top bathing suit cover- whatever makes her happy. I choose my battles! :lmao: And being in Ga means nothing lately. Its been chilly! We actually got snow 2-3 times this year too!

The tutus are soooo easy too! I just made one for the Big Give and its fast becoming a new addiction like scrap booking for me.:lovestruc And they are just cute. I just found some of the tulle at Walmart for only .50 a yard- excellent! Makes them not only easy, but supper cheap too! :woohoo: Then it takes me about 2 hours to make one now. And Aleks is making matching hairbows for them. She wants to try the tutu next and I actually think it will be easier for her little hands to do than the hair tie. :thumbsup2

I am joining in! I follow along on a lot of the Make a Wish TR's and I saw you on there! I love your little family, so cute! Can't wait to read more!

I too, I confess, am a WISH kid-aholic! :lmao: I just love the srories and how brave and strong all the kids and their families are. I love doing the Big Give with them too and talking to the parents on here. Its a cool way to connect with others.

Next installment will probably be done tomorrow night. Esp with the time change and all. Gotta get up earlier in the morning... grr...I hate daylight savings....

And thanks for the compliment on the family! I think we're pretty cute too- although I think I am slightly biased! :lovestruc

Alright! I'm back! At least momentarily.

We got back to Pop pretty late due to extra magic hours at Epcot. We left the Princess dinner in high spirits let me tell you. :goodvibes It was a great start to our trip. Glad we chose that to begin our adventures. Some people are die hards that you have to start your trip at the MK, but I figured we were getting in late- so we might wanna start out with a nice dinner and just a few rides to get us ready.

We rode Maelstrom next. Aleks loved it! I wasn't aware that Davy could ride that one at that point, so he stayed with Nana again. I somehow remember Maelstrom as being a little more, how do I say, "exciting" when I was younger. :lmao: I figured we would take Davy on it next time.

We decided to leave fairly early from Epcot so that we could get some sleep that night, but we did explore Mexico and wandered around Future World a little before we left. We hopped on the buses and away we went. When we got to the Pop, we took showers and the kids went to bed. We also went to bed, but not before I opened the Box of Magic!!

I will take this time to finally explain my box of magic! :wizard:

The Box of Magic came about from me buying the kids so many little items to give them over the course of the trip to curtail the "can I have ____?" problem. Yes, Aleks had saved over $50 of her own to spend, and Davy is too little to really ask for anything- but that doesn't stop them from wanting every cool thing they see! That could add up to lots of extra spending, and I am one cheap momma! Aleks has a habit of hoarding her own money and not wanting to spend it, but she has no qualms in spending our money- that's for sure!

So, enter the Box of Magic!!!

I took two of Davy's diaper boxes, you know the case of diapers you buy in bulk at walmart of whatever? and decorated them with the kids names and wrote "Magic inside- keep out!" on them. I had this done way early, so the kids would see them and wonder what could possibly be in them.. :goodvibes:rotfl2: Aleks was constantly asking what was in the boxes!! :woohoo: I told her they were filled with goodies brought to me in the night by Tink! She was very down with that. :thumbsup2

I really wish I took a picture of them! I didn't even think about it. :headache:

I had wrapped up lots of cool stuff in different wrapping papers for different nights and put post-it notes with numbers on them so I would know which night to leave which package out. The first night, I left each kiddo out a package from Tinkerbell while they were sleeping. That night they each got a pair of Disney sunglasses (bought at the Disney store when they were $1 a pair!!!) to wear and a pack of glow sticks and some other little Disney related trinkets.

They woke up relatively early in the morning and saw their packages. They were in love!!! :cloud9: Tink had left them presents in night!!! Davy needed a little help opening his, he had no idea what to do really. :rotfl: But he caught on soon enough!

As we were leaving to head out once again- "Tink" magically remember to leave out 2 more packages for when we arrived back that afternoon as well. That Tink is very tricky!! She never came while we were in the room awake, but she was always leaving presents for us!!

And yes it worked, I hardly ever heard, "Can I have ____?" the entire trip. Could have also helped that Aleks is a clearance shopper too! :rotfl: She wants the most for her money, just like momma! :thumbsup2

Very cool idea to have Magic Boxes! :goodvibes: And it sounds like it was a nice low-key first night! I know what you mean about little girls and hoarding their own money! Too funny :lmao: Piper does the same thing!

Day 2 was another Epcot day for us. :cool1: We woke up, the kids got their presents from Tink and we were off once again! On our way into the park, Aleks made her first pin trade ever. She thought she was the queen of pin trading! :lmao: The CM was very nice and let her look and trust me, she took her time about it. She traded for another Snow White pin, which I want to say she lost... :sad2: Next time- we invest in locking pin backs. Sure they take a little longer, but worth not losing your pins and your child freaking out later when they realize one is missing.

Here is our pic as we walked into the park: (Nana is in this pic too!)

DSCF3280.jpg

As we walked into the gates and towards Future World, who do we see? It's Daisy Duck! Hurray! And that hussy was hitting on my man! It was hilarious! She couldn't keep her hands off him and even better, her handler kept admonishing her saying, "What if Donald finds out Daisy? How could you?! I may have to tell him myself, the way you're acting! You have a man!" It was great. Aleks was laughing like crazy and so was I- John kept turning red, blushing and smiling! :lmao:

DSCF3282.jpg

DSCF3283.jpg

As soon as we peeled Daisy off my man- We saw Stitch coming out! We were the first to see him and there was no line and no time limit!! Excellent character interaction so far today!! Davy loved them all! And here I was, afraid he would freak out or something.

Cool Stitch surfing with Davy:

DSCF3289.jpg

One of my favorite pics from the entire trip!!

DSCF3291.jpg

So, we finally made it in the door! We went into Innoventions. We did the Tornado simulator and a bunch of the other experiments inside. Aleks loved them all! Davy just liked running around and pulling on things and watching his beloved sissy make things happen. He absolutely loved the thing where you jump on the mats and the doors open and slam shut! He thought it was great. He did it over and over.

Then we wandered back towards the World Showcase- Aleks was dying to do the Kidcot Fun stops and the Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure. We signed up for the Kim Possible thing while in the Innoventions building. Got a fast pass to pick up our Kimmunicator and started moving that direction as we had to be in Mexico at 11:30 for our adventure! :thumbsup2

On the way to Adventure: With some time to kill and a camera just waiting to be filled with pics!
