Davids Rentals /Rent trade board

I am considering renting my points for 2010 because we are going on a cruise. I see the Dis has Davids Rental as a sponsor and I was wondering how many people on the boards he has been able to rent all their points?
I am a little nervous to rent my points and not sure I have the patience to do it myself. So the chance to have someone else do it for me sounds great


but I see there are allot of people still on the boards renting themselves?Has anyone on the boards been able to get all the points they wanted rented through Davids Service? :lovestruc
 
I have never used his services and I don't know what David's success rate is. I can tell you I have only read positive things regarding his service. Good Luck!
 
I'd prefer to use David's service than dealing with the hassle of doing it myself.
 

I have rented out my points by myself and have also used David's service. I must say that as long as David is there I will never rent my points by myself again! I was so thoroughly happy with the service that he provides and I don't have to do any of the phone calls, follow ups and worrying about payment, lining up DME or any of the other myriad of things that come up when renting points I will always use David's services! Just letting you know my experience doing it both ways. Thank you DAVID!!!!!:woohoo:

It's not like it used to be when David could be your associate and handle pretty much everything. You will have to be the one to make reservations and changes, but I guess it is somewhat comforting to know that he is the point of contact. I believe he handles the money part too and maybe provides some assurance of getting paid. I've never rented so I am just going on memory of prior posts. If I were to rent points, I would certainly size up my options.

David rocks!

His service is safe, secure, and all spelled out for the renter and the guests. He takes care of the contracts for both and he is responsible for matching up a renter and guest and all references. He calls MS to find out about availability before he even contacts you. All you have to do is then call MS with the full info he gives you, make the reservation, and email him the confirmation number.

He is lightening quick also. Money was in my account the day after I gave him the confirmation number. You get 1/2 upfront, and the other half upon guest check-in to ensure that you keep the reservation.

No stress, no hassle. Clean as a whistle.
 
I'm renting my east coast points to help cover our Alaskan cruise and David was wonderful. I had 320 points to rent and he rented 290 within weeks of contract signing. I had half my money almost immediately after making the reservation and will get the other half upon check in. It was remarkably simple and hassle free. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
 
Ditto...he's rented 145 pts for us so far, he emails me the details, I make the 10 min call to MS, then email him the confirmation #. We got the money the next day or so. (1/2 up front, 1/2 at check in) He pays $10 a point (unless you agree to rent for less because your points are distressed.)

Last year we had so many points (whole year banked, plus the whole new year) that we decided to blow points by staying at the Grand Wailea on Maui for nearly a week. At nearly 95 pts a night...I wish we had rented our points thru Dave, took the cash, and paid 1/2 of that! But the trip was awesome...and the Grand Wailea is amazing LOL!


Forgot to add that I totally recommend him. His service is great.
 
I guess I just happen to have bad luck. Everytime I get the email to check on reservations, I am too slow to respond. Other timely renters beat me out :sad1:

It did take several months to finally be the 1st to respond. I'm in HI...most of the time when he's sending out an email, I'm still in bed LOL!
 
Well I guess I have to retract my statement. I just completed my first reservation thru David's Rental.

Well I hope I will be as lucky as you all have been. I really need to rent my points. I have 3 cabins on the Dream booked for June of next year. With the change in the DCL rules I cannot convert my cash reservation to a points reservation. So I Reallllllly have to rent my points. I spoke with Davids wife Melissa on the phone. She was very nice and reassuring that they should rent.Keeping my fingers crossed. :cloud9: Phyllis
 
I met David several times years ago at WDW during some meets and dinners at Mousefest and Tagrel.

David is one of the nicest, kindest persons that I have ever met.

Sorry, but I have a dumb question. Is the rental $10/pp US Currency? David stated he was in Canada, so I just wanted to make sure that the $10 was in US.

That's an interesting question. I have no idea. I guess that depends upon several factors, like whether he has a US fund bank account (some folks in Canada do) or how paypal handles any currency conversions.

I would assume the DVC owner is paid $10US, as I've never heard anything to the contrary.
