I just heard about this guy named David the worker. Under McCain's plan he will see an increase in taxes, with no benefit. Since McCain wants to tax health insurance, that will be an increase of about $600 a year in taxes for David. Since David has insurance through work, and no insurance deducatable, the money that McCain will send to his insurance company will never reach him.

David wasn't on the news though, since the MSM doesn't want to show any facts about the election. He was looking at me through the mirror as I shaved this morning.

There are lots of Davids out there. I don't see Hannity rushing out to give them interviews though.

No deductible and co-pay? That's one rare company!!!

Am I reading this right? David now works for a company and has insurance with no deductible.

I have an HMO with no deductable, and very very rarely go to the doctor. My company also just built a new medical facility on-site, with no copay for visits.

The only thing I pay for every year is if I want to buy extra boxes of contacts (wich I don't need).

You should go right to the "primary source" and learn about this instead of propagating this misinformation!

My preference was not to use HMO. Before retirement many I worked with where not happy with it. And there were those who were happy with it. They had to go to the primary first to get permission to go to another doctor. I think the HMO had the final say and could refuse treatment. I don't know that because I never used it. I used the old model where I could go to any doctor.

When we changed carriers we went to a system, and I can't remember if it was called a ppo or pos, that was like a HMO. You had to use the doctors in that plan and also get permission to get treatment. Then we changed again where you had a choice to use HMO, POS, or PPO. With that one you could go to a specialist directly. When I retired I was put into another group where we could go a doctor in the plan or one out of the plan at an increased cost. Also we could go to a specialist directly.

Now that I'm on medicare I can go to any doctor who takes assignment, and just about all of them do. The downside is I have to carry supplemental insurance. The upside is it is a plan that covers just about everything and won't wipe me out if I got a serious, serious ailment. Cost me about 125 a month.

Maybe David is saying that he doesn't pay anything for his health insurance. Therefore, McCain's plan will actually hurt him. That's the position we are in. My husband is retired, and his insurance is paid for has part of his retirement. Under John McCain's plan, we will have to pay taxes on the value of that company provided insurance -- thanks, but no thanks.
