David’s DVC Rentals - 👍🏻 or 👎🏻 Added Questions on page 2 (6/22)

I have used them as an owner to rent out points and they were fantastic to deal with. Very quick responses if you have any questions.
Ditto!

They have been great to work with as an owner, but we have never rented points from them.

Added Questions…..

When going through Dave’s, will I buy our 5 day park hopper tickets through them or through Disney?

If through Disney, can I do that ahead of time? (we’ve only bought the whole package through Disney)

Can we still buy a dining plan?

Do we get the extended hours at night?

Can we make 60 days out ADRs for dining and book the Keys to the Kingdom Tour?

Thanks for your continued help :goodvibes

While I haven’t used the rental sites, I do want to mention that BLT is being refurbished from Sep 2024 - Sep 2025.
Do you know what type of refurbishment?
Is it something that would be disruptive to guests?

We’ve used DVC Rental Store in the past & they were awesome to work with! We’ve looked into David’s but haven’t booked through them.

It’s a full refurbishment for rooms. Disney’s website says guests may see and hear construction throughout the resort. They advise that transportation could be interrupted depending on construction pathway. I read that the skybridge to CR may close from time to time. This is is standard Disney disclaimers when a hotel is under renovation. What is holding me back from booking is that they change my room category or change me to another hotel if there is a delay. I suppose that’s the worst case scenario.

My mom is trying to plan a family trip for 2025, and wants us all (11) in a single room. We've been looking at the Grand Villas at various DVC resorts, and BLT was actually our top choice because of room layout and location. Not sure how the refurb will affect things.

I'm ASSUMING you can get your tickets however you want. If so, I would encourage you to look at Undercover Tourist. We've used them in the past and saved a chunk of change.
I second this. UT is great for park tickets. We buy ours through them for every trip. Especially right now for tickets through 2025 where they’re selling adult tickets for childrens price.

I recommend buying your tickets separately through Undercover Tourist. Adult tickets for childrens prices now through 2025. We’ve used them for all our trips since 2006 and they are great.

We’ve rented points from people on the Dis and even though we never got the dining plan it was available for us to purchase

You get all the benefits that come with being a resort guest. The only thing you don’t get is DVC owner discounts.

You can link your reservation and tickets to your MDE account just like a normal reservation through Disney.

Park ticket purchase option does not come with DVC reservation the same like cash reservation.

With DVC it will always be a separate purchase; there isn’t a ‘package’ option.

We started using Boardwalk Ticketing years ago as that kept proving to be cheapest option. We found that through:

https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/ticket-calculator That’s a great help!

But the last time we wanted to buy 5 Day hoppers (Dec 2023 trip) all the options were so expensive we looked further and ended up buying through a UK ticket site. WDW was $800 for the 5 day hopper. We ended up paying $645 for 7 day hopper that included magic bands and memory maker on attractiontickets.com, a UK site. It’s not against any rules for US resident. We used the ticket the same as any other - link that ticket in MDE and show up to park gate tapstyle (no extra step required there).

If through Disney, can I do that ahead of time? (we’ve only bought the whole package through Disney)
You can buy ticket direct through WDW site. Cheaper options exist though. One good advantage of buying through WDW site is low down payment when purchasing as resort package, and the offers like free dining that come with adding directly purchased WDW park hoppers.

None of that applies with DVC reservations though.

Can we still buy a dining plan?

Absolutely. The owner of the points will need to book that.
Do we get the extended hours at night?

Yes. Anybody listed as guest on deluxe WDW reservation qualifies for EEH and early entry too.
Can we make 60 days out ADRs for dining and book the Keys to the Kingdom Tour?

Yes. Any onsite reservation comes with those advance booking perks.

Caveat: split stays reset the clock - back to back reservations (like 4 nights Pop then 3 nights Beach Club) would not get 60+7.

You'll buy park tickets through Disney or somewhere like undercover tourist, not David's.

Once your reservation is booked through David's, you'll get the reservation code to add to your Disney account. From there, you can buy tickets ahead of time and they will be linked to your reservation.

Yes to the rest of the questions. You can add a dining plan in My Disney Experience after link your hotel reservation, you will get extended evening hours, and you'll have the 60+ days to make ADRs.

That bolded part needs to be done by owner of the DVC points. It’s very easy. Most rental contracts require the owner to do it upon request (in a timely manner); renter needs to pay before it gets added. DDP must be added at least 48 hours prior to check-in.
