My husband got some tickets for the Dave Matthews concert from work and our two daughters (9 and 10) want to go. We know the music, I'm not worried about that - I'm mostly worried about what the crowd will be like. I know the college crowd will be there and I guess I'm just wondering what we should expect. We do have good club seats through DH's company and I know the girls would love it but I just want to hear from anyone who's been. Thanks.
UPDATE: Well, the concert was last night and boy, do I feel old! Don't get me wrong, it was really great, it's just that I have to admit that my concert days are behind me. First of all, we hit traffic all the way into Boston so didn't stop for dinner like planned. When we got there the opening act was still on (Emmylou Harris I think, we were late to hear who it was). DMB didn't come on until close to 9:00. The accoustic part was awesome, they sound just like they do on the CDs. Well, after the break they had the full-out concert which was fun. The smoke was VERY heavy! There was another mom next to me with her kids and we were talking about how different our lives were with kids around (we discussed exit plans and possible terrorist attacks in the arena of all things! Quite a departure from our old concert days - Talk about OLD!) By around 10:30 or so, the kids started doing the old head-bob, dozing off thing so we decided to leave (poor DH, he was really enjoying himself). After catching oldest DDs contact lens off the Fleet Center floor, it was time to go. So, as you can see we survived but I have to admit that this was probably not the best parenting moment of our lives. Live and learn but I think we'll wait 'til they're older to try again. Thanks, again for all your input.
