A bit about the two of us

Leanne (me) - I still live my folks in South West England (Somerset). I am a self employed hair dresser and I love my job. Well I’m certainly not in it for the money he he! I have been a brought up on Disney my whole life having Visited 3 of the parks DLRP (9 times) WDW (8 times) and DLC (only once ); )

Dave (DFI) - Still lives with his mum in the same town. Dave is green keeper, for people who aren’t sure what this is its a golf course greens man. Dave had been to Disney once before with his family but can’t remember any of it he blames a bump to the head that happened a little later on in life. But I can happily say I have converted him to a full Disney fanatic :). Dave’s been to DLRP (twice but can’t remember 1st) and WDW (once there will be plenty more though)

So we have both always lived in the same town never far away from each other, had mutual friends and went to the same senior school but never met or even heard of each other until the 5th April 2008.

We met at friends house he had a few mates round for a few drinks and to play a few games. I hadn’t seen this friend in years but had spoken to him recently and he had told me to come along if I wasn’t do any thing. So I was out with my BFF and we decided to go along. It was ok nothing special until this Dave walked it was umm not love at first sight but defiantly attraction. Nothing happened and me and my BFF went home early.

A few weekends later my BFF invited me round said I could some bring some friends so I asked our mutual friend if he wanted to come and he brought Dave :). At my friends house I was on facebook and Dave mentioned he had it so I added him thinking nothing of it.

A few days later we exchanged numbers of all places for our story to start it had to be facebook lol. After a few texts we arranged to go for a drink together and got on really well we went every night that week together and it was amazing. I loved spending time with him. We had our first kiss that weekend and I don’t know if any one else has seen hitch and Will Smith in that film says “a woman can tell from a first kiss” I knew from our first kiss.

We get on so well Just like best friends. I am so in Love

So my birthday present from Dave was to take me to DLRP and my birthday present to Dave was our Disney tickets (My birthday is the 9th August Dave’s is the 10th). Whilst in the Disney village we are in the art shop (not sure of correct name for shop) and I see this ring its nothing expensive but I just fell in love with it (that was love at first sight) Dave says he will buy it for me for my engagement ring :scared1:

ENGAGEMENT! I hadn’t actually thought about it before we had said we wanted to spend the rest of lives together and we were really happy.

So Dave buys the ring and all I could think was oh my god are we engaged do I ring and tell mum  I never got the ring on this trip I wasn’t disappointed I was so happy with Dave and the way things were:hug: :lovestruc

So after looking on here and hearing of Disney engagements I thought how lucky ever one was. I didn’t think it would happen this holiday as Dave told me repeatedly that I wouldn’t get my ring till May and not to get my hopes up. I was fine with this as we were so happy together and the way things were. But i just thought how wonderful it would be to get engaged at the happiest place on earth where dream really do come true

Once upon a time, in a far away land, on the last day of a perfect weeks holiday. Dave and Leanne went to Magic Kingdom for the afternoon and to stay on till the evening for Mickey's not so scary Halloween party.

They left the hotel around 2pm for Disney to watch the parade at 3. They took the boat over to Magic Kingdom as this reminded Leanne of her late Grampy and enjoyed the memories of him on this boat. The sight of castle for first time that day Leanne not knowing what surprise was waiting for her inside.

So they enjoyed the sun and looking at the Halloween decorations . Sitting on the curb towards the end of the parade where it was a lot less crowded. Waiting for the music and the characters.

So at the end of the parade Leanne and David made their way up main street getting a closer look at the castle. They made their way through the castle. Leanne went in the gift shop sir Mickey's while Dave went to the toilet but when he returned and Leanne asked where they were he didn't know?!?

After going on a few rides and getting their Halloween bands and sweet bags they headed to the front of the castle to watch the dream show. Dave was constantly checking the time and finally at 4.55 Dave asked Leanne to follow him, leading her to the back of the castle. In the rear of the castle is a restaurant.

Leanne had tried for weeks to get reservations here and thought David was just teasing. He made his way to the desk and said he has a reservation for 2 at 5pm. They were told to go through and wait for Cinderella so they could have their photo taken with her. They did so and then were called upstairs for their fairytale to begin.

They were sat in these beautiful seats (in the big window in the centre in the picture above). David went to the toilet again. The view from the window was amazing seeing over fantasyland watching people attempting to pull the sword from the stone and watching people go round and round on the carousel.

The waiter came over to take their order calling them the royal couple and giving them a sword and wand to take home with them.

After their starter and main the waiter brought out a big white plate with a white dome covering what was inside. The waiter told Leanne it was from her prince charming and lifted the dome revealing a glass slipper on a bed red rose petals. Inside the glass slipper was a red rose with Leanne’s engagement ring around it. The glass slipper was engraved with their names and the date with a message on the side chosen by Dave “Happily ever after“.

Dave was on one knee asking Leanne “Will you marry me?”
The whole restaurant was clapping and cheering the couples engagement.

With adrenaline rushing through them both shaking with excitement of course Leanne said yes.

And this is the beginning of their happily ever after....

I am sorry the introduction was so long,

I had read others on here and had tried to go with majority of how the rest of you did it.

So we haven't been engaged long but have already decided on a WDW

It won't be for along time as we want have a home together first and be settled until we get married. But I am so excited and I just love being on here so this is for me to write down my ideas and get helpful advice from the rest of you.

I will deffintly be a Escape wedding just because how far away we are and would really like to be just family.

My parents are still living their happily ever after 25 years together. I have one sister who I have already asked to be maid of honour :rotfl:

Daves parents are divorced and don't have anything to do with each other. Dave has oe brother but doesn't have much contact with him.

Other guest will be my Nan I am the eldest Grandchild and she was nearly as excited as me when she found out we got engaged lol

My sister BF may be Fiancee by then

and then other member sof family but not decided anything else yet.

Only other thing is I know i want the colour scheme to be hot pink :goodvibes

and as we got married in Cinderellas castle to keep a subtle theme of this thorugh our wedding.
