So the Daughtry concert was amazing! I liked him a lot on American Idol and he didn't disappoint in person. Truly nice guy, great performer, very appreciative of his audience and interacted with us quite a bit.

I noticed something that had changed since last year - the signs on either side of the concert stage that prohibited photography of any kind - are now gone. I waited until the concert traffic had cleared afterwards, just to make sure the signs weren't somewhere else - but they weren't. I even asked a couple of very professional and knowledgeable Team Members who were both surpised the signs were gone. They did say, however, that they have never been directed to enforce those signs. After all - hey - you're having a concert at a theme park where almost everyone has a camera!

The food was delicious this year, although I was saddened to see my beloved cajun wings had disappeared from the menu. There are chicken strips with various sauces, but it's just not the same...

Everyone there was so nice, as usual. Great Team Members - one young lady in her Mardi Gras outfit pointed to my beads and said "I don't want to know what you did to get those sir!" LOL!

We hung out in Monster's Cafe to eat and wait for the drizzle to clear out, which is did about an hour before show time. The evening and the weather were perfect!

I noticed that a lot of the floats were not well lit, and I could see several lights that were not illuminated on them. I wonder if they got wet and shorted out from the earlier rain...

But the parade was awesome, we caught a few beads, and the concert was amazing. Such a fun and great night. Looking forward to the BNL next week!

I think it is up to the discretion of the artist regarding the photography. In previous years, it was allowed sometimes and not others.

Looks like a pretty good line-up this year.

Happy the show was good. Can you please tell me a few things, though?
What time did the parade start?
What time did the concert start?
Did the parade exit by Beetlejuice or make a complete loop back to the start?
The Universal web site does not have these details.

I've been right up front (literally) several times over the years for the concerts with security guards walking between us and the stage throughout the concert and not once have they asked me to stop recording the concerts.I probably have taped the entire shows of Chicago,Beach Boys,Frankie Valli,Earth Wind and Fire and a few others.Possibly if you bring out some professional camera equipment to tape the show they might tell you to stop, but there's probably 2,000 people taping the shows on their digital cameras and phones, unlikely those are getting enforced.

Hi Hydro,

Sure thing!

The parade kicked off at 715.
The concert started at maybe 5 minutes after 8.
The parade made a loop back to the entrance, next to the makeup show.

Some parade details are available at https://www.universalorlando.com/Events/Mardi-Gras/Parade.aspx

Hope you have a great time too when you go!

Hi Doom,

That certainly meshes with what the TM told me as well, that they've never been instructed to enforce those signs.

It'll be interesting to see if the signs make an appearance at all this year...

I always tried to get a shot of the sign and the artist performing at the same time. Made me feel like a rebel. Right up there with removing the tag from my mattress - lol.

Thanks, the parade info has been updated. The concert times still aren't listed. It seems like 45 minutes after the parade starts is the time.
