I need help!!!

We have booked two nights at HRH for 28/29th July in order to make use of the FOL perks for resort guests. The trouble is, DD (aged 8) is absolutely determined to stand in line (all day if necessary) so that she can be the 'lucky' child who gets 'Slimed' at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios.

Now, this is not just an idle whim of hers - we tried, and failed, in February and ended up seeing the show 4 times in one day!! My fantasies of riding The Mummy and seeing Shrek all day are in serious jepoardy!!

Has anyone ever managed to get a kid slimed before? If so, is there a trick to it or is it just by random chance.

In other words WHO DO I NEED TO BRIBE AT NICKELODEON!!!!!

but I think they stop taping this month. I am not sure about July, but I know they won't be taping while we are there in June. My DD really wanted to get slimed too!

I also believe you are correct. They do not tape in the summer months. We got to be on the show in Aug., but not slimed!!! I think when they are handing out the tickets, they ask the first people there?? Not sure, but the tickets were different colors for the people who "got slimed".

My dds want to get slimed too. We'll be there July 15-20. ANy suggestions or helpful hints. One of dds will be celebrating her birthday - do they have any sort of birthday pin that might increase her odds? Anybody with any past "slime" experience please respond. LOL!

They Do NOT tape in the summer!!! Sorry......... no sliming going on as far as slimetime. They do have another show, and if they are really "excited" and yelling, raising thier hands, acting goofy, that's what they look for!! But, that show is NOT on tv and it's not slimtime live, it's at the end of the studio tour.

Have Fun!!!

My DD and DN would also like to get slimed:rolleyes:
Do they get slimed in the other show at the end of the tour?

They should just have some kind of vat that at certain times dumps slime on the kids LOL Let the kids line up for it and slime away. If the slime is cold enough I might consider it myself in the middle of the summer LOL:tongue:

My son was chosen to be slimed at the end of Game Lab last summer. He wasn't jumping up and down particularly but he was sitting in the front row of the bleachers. I guess if your daughter is sitting up front, she has a better chance of being chosen, but it is pretty much random selection.

Just for the record, he says he'd never do it again. It took a few baths to get all the green slime off his butt:crazy:

I believe the OP was talking about the Game Lab show since she said they saw the show 4 times in one day. When we have been there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to who gets picked. They do always seem to pick a child on the front row. Last time we went, they chose a little boy sitting next to my DD to get slimed. He was cute and just sitting there raising his hand. My DD and DS were screaming wildly and didn't get chosen for anything. Good Luck to you Sue and your DD! I hope she gets chosen the first time you go so you can move on to Shrek and Mummy!

Not good news. Like so many, I have a son who is determined to be slimed! I really don't want to have to sit through 4 shows to get it done! Ya know, they aught to set up a both and, for an extra fee, kids could line up to be slimed. I am sure they would make a killing!

Does anyone know if Slimetime tapes in Feb during President's day week?

Thanks to Robinrs for the info............ ALSO, at the top of the threads page, there is a thread on this topic with more info!!!

Hope it helps!!

The host of Slimetime, Dave Aizer - told me that the "slime" is applesauce, dyed green!!! I personally can't say one way or the other, having never been slimed........ nor have my sons, but that is what he told me!!!!

I assume the dye could "stain" you, other than that I doubt it is "hazardous" in any way whatsoever!!!

Not to argue seashore, but a cold is a virus, therefore it cannot be transferred in that particular way!! ;)

my daughter was slimed when she was younger, I need to get that picture framed. Only if I can find it.

She was just lucky and got picked, did not tip anybody.......

When we were there 3 yrs ago the "lucky child" who "happened"
to be picked to be slimied turned out to be the daughter of Josh Brolin who was there with his then-fiancee Minnie Driver. So I think it is safe to say that if you are a celebrity you will have a good chance of having your child picked at "random"!

... We were there that weekend this year and there was no taping of Slimetime Live at all at USO -- only in California! :( I guess it's possible that they'll change their schedule for 2005, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Take care,
Sarah

I guess my son won't have to get his hopes up. We will just do game lab....

In 2002 we were lucky enough to be walking by soon after opening & they were handing out tickets for Slimetime Live, we have a tape of us on TV (Called everyone I knew to make sure it was taped!) no sliming but the whipped cream cannons got both DS's!!

Hi all.
In reading all of the posts and replies, I hope to set the record straight about some things.
I am one of the hosts at Game Lab and all of this info is pretty current, so hopefully it will be helpful.

Slime kids are chosen at random- about 8 times out of 10. Most certainly if there are celebrity kids there, or friends and family of employees, they will be pre-chosen. ALso, if there are ANY Make a Wish kids there who wish to get slimed, then we will definitely do it- unless they've done it before.

We pick one kid per show, and generally, if any parent approaches us to slime their kid, we usually don't pick the kid, just from the standpoint of if any other parents see us speaking with another parent, and then we pick that kid, we get totally called on "picking favorites", and that can get very awkward.

We don't always pick the "cutest" or "goofiest" kid. I know I generally pick randomly, but sometimes we do look for the kids that are a little shy, but you can just tell they are dying to do it. I look for kids that are polite, and listen to directions and also, don't have obnoxious parents screaming at them to raise their hands....that is soooo nerwracking.

SLIME TIME LIVE will NOT be coming back to Orlando. Whether or not it will be taping in L.A. remains to be seen, but we were recently told by Nick publicity that STL is not taping this summer. They did say we might have a new show in the works, that could POSSIBLY be there, but don't plan on anything.

Game Lab will be going up in the number of shows from the end of June to the end of August, so that should be fun! We currently do 9 shows a day and we will more than likely be doubling that during the peak season.

Game Lab is NOT taped and if you go, I encourage you to bring a camera or video camera just in case your kid is picked. :sunny:

Also keep in mind, that we hosts and the lab assistants understand many of you parents are dragged there show after show and we feel for you. We wish we could pick every kid, but it's just not possible. We are actually working on trying to see if we can also Pie one kid per show, but that has to be approved by Nick head folk. It might happen, and I know kids really like that too.

Hope all this helps.

I guess we will just enjoy the show and hope that the host sees how very earnestly our son wants to be a part of the action....:bounce:

too bad about no longer taping at UFO...don't think we will travel to LA any time soon....

hammy,

Yup, that would be my son::yes:: A little shy (maybe more than a little;) ) but he really wanted to do it and I definitely wasn't screaming at him to raise his hand. I'm glad he was picked.

By the way, thanks for all the info and welcome to the boards!
