When do the MVMCP dates become available? I am thinking of planning a trip around this, we've never been at Christmas time before. I remember from last year the last one is about a week before Christmas, so I want to try and make it for that one.

TIA

This is what the disboard home page has on that subject.

YEAH!! Thanks Bobbi, I didn't think to look on the homepage. I only looked over on the Disneyworld.com site and it didn't have any dates scheduled. I'm planning to arrive on 12/17 and was thinking that I might just miss out by a day, but looks like I'll still have a couple dates to choose.

I've decided to call this my "forget that I'm turning 40" birthday trip!

Thanks again.

Carol1231, I'm so glad it will work out for you. Last year we were arriving on the 19th, and there wasn't one. You just have a wonderful time, no matter what! I mentioned that the dates came from the disboard, because on a different forum, people kept going back and forth about "official" dates, maybe WDW hasn't announced them yet.

Bobbi :flower:

PS. By the way, we're planning on going on the 11th this year, we moved our vacation up a week, just to play it safe.

Thanks Bobbi!

I had tried to project the dates from last years dates and was a full week off.

BTW, where on the main board did you find that info. I looked at Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies, at the thread there on it, but didn't see this year's dates. Did I just not look carefully enough -- or is the info somewhere else?

Do we know around when they'll start to go on sale (not for a while, I know)? We only get a discount if we buy them the day of, is that correct?

JimMIA, I click on the word DIS

This may work:

athenna, you get a discount if you buy them ahead of time. You can order them from the official site, but you don't have to pay for postage, or you can if you want to. We just print out the receipt and take it to guest relations before the party. If you wait until the day of the party, you may lose out, sometimes they are sold out.

Thanks for the info! I thought I had read somewhere we could only get a discount the day of, and I wouldn't want to do that and risk not having anything available. I think I may be getting the different discounts mixed up.

I think you two are talking about two different discounts.

There is an AP or DVC (can't remember which one) discount of 25% off, the day of the party. I think I'm going to do that. If we get tickets, great, if not, no big deal.

Thanks. I tried that originally, but got one of those indecipherable computer error messages. I think their server must have been on lunch break.

I interpreted the AP discount to mean that the discount is computed on the price of a same-day ticket NOT on the price of an advance ticket. I had to read it twice but I think this is what it means. At first I also thought it meant that you had to purchase on the day of the event.

Jean -I hope you are right, but I think it means you can only get the discount if you purchase "on the day of" the event (and of course, there may not be any tickets left if you wait until then to buy). My MM said there would be more info on the passholders' website beginning June 5, so maybe we'll know for sure then. It would be really great if you are right!

Best wishes-

CarolMN,
Post when you hear more, okay? My pea brain will forget to check when June finally gets here. Can't wait to get my sweaty little hands on those MVMCP tickets!

I will! But I bet you will check, too! You have all the symptoms of an early December junkie, LOL. :p

One of the reasons I spend so much time on these boards is that I have to have MVMCP tickets and CP Dinner package reservations as soon as they go on the market. I really tried to wait last year - because it really wasn't necessary for me to call for those things on the first day for last year's trip, but I only made it to the third day, LOL. :guilty:

Best wishes -

I read it to mean that you have to buy it the day of the party, to receive the 25% discount.

I found this on the Mousesavers web site...

Starting in 2005, Annual and Seasonal Passholders will qualify for a 25% off discount on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets, when purchased the night of the event ONLY. Note that in the past, some weekend nights sold out in advance, so don't count on being able to get the discount for all nights.

Gee, another discount with an AP. I'm really gonna have to get one of those AP's I guess. I was planning to just use up my old park hoppers, but I may just have to make the investment. :confused3

Sure, Dopey Sharon. Go and burst my bubble of hope for a MVMCP discount. ;)

Thanks for posting the dates. We can't wait to buy our tickets for this year! :flower:
