I'm so excited, will be at Epcot on July 28th, I know its just the beginning but what can I expect? I have never been during the event and would like to enjoy a day of it.

I'm happy it's shorter! I thought it was kinda strange having it like 5 months long. Makes it not so special if it's just around half the year.

I certainly hope so!!!! It will most likely depend if they finish construction of Commnicore Plaza in time for the festival. This is an aerial photo of the construction area taken by bioconstruct just a few days ago. Will they have it completed by July?

we have been to F&W a few different times but always on the back half...who has been on opening weekend? what can we expect???

Honestly, probably not a lot of difference in terms of the festival itself. If there on day one, you may see some long lines for unique, festival-specific merchandise and you'll probably see a lot of bloggers, vloggers, instagrammers and other "content creators" out in the wild covering the opening. Chances are it will be a lot hotter and more humid in July so don't forget to hydrate and pace yourself. And probably plan for the almost inevitable late afternoon thunderstorm -- also note that some of the outdoor registers in the booths get taken offline when lightning is in the area, so it is nice to have some cash on hand. Have fun!!!

I'd never say never when it comes to park ops, but I think it's been at least five years since they've done a soft opening.
