Dates announced for Food and Wine

I'm torn between being wicked excited that we'll be there for the start of it (our trip is 9/10-16) and being worried it will jack the crowds up for what was supposed to be a relatively quiet week.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Our dates are the 11-17th.

The start of F&W tends to be quieter since the events really get going in October. One year we went in September and missed most of the big events, so we moved our subsequent trips to October. The festival does continue to grow though. One time we had dinner with a CM who was in charge of marketing for Disney, and he used the phrase "victim of it's own success".

Thanks for letting us know. Several of you mentioned that first few weeks were rather slow. What about the last week? We are going from Nov.6th - Nov.12th. How do you think the crowds will be? Thanks!

We were there at the beginning this past year and OMG I've never seen EPCOT so crowded on that Saturday. Wall to wall people!

We are going the 16th-24th and I'm with both of you. We usually go the same week every year and usually miss F&W by a week. One year our last day was the 1st day of F&W. We walked into Epcot in the morning and walked right back out it was so busy and you could hardly move. While I like the idea of getting to try some of the food booths (we don't drink) I am nervous about what the crowds will be like. I guess we are just going to have to plan not to go to Epcot on Friday & Saturday :(

Oh well at least we will be at Disney! Really missed not going last year.

Would it be safe to assume that. Tuesday night in late September (with PM EMHs) would still be a better bet than a Saturday morning (11-1ish?). We are wanting to plan one full day and two half days but the way the Halloween Party schedule looks like it's going to fall (no party on the last Tuesday with an 8pm close) it leaves us with the option of a half day being that Tuesday evening (with PM EMH) or that Saturday morning (and then hopping somewhere else).

We moved our trip earlier in September to avoid the crowds for the start of F&W and now they moved it up to start in the middle of our trip. we are going to be there Sept 9 to the 19th. We have been going in Sept for quite a few years and with the free dining it seems to be more crowded every year. Last year the festival started when we were there and it was really crowded.

We're going to be there at the same time. According to several crowd calendars I've seen, it's going to be moderately busy. Maybe a 5 out of 10 most of the week and growing on the weekends.

We also picked Sept 11-16 hoping for small crowds, quiet time. We thought we would skip F&W this year. Disney thought otherwise!

We'll be going nov 12-20, so guess we'll catch the last two days. Will it be super crowded probably? Any thought on if or how it may effect Christmas going up or even MVmcp? I know it's two different parks but it is changing schedules from what's been the norm. We usually go In December for Xmas and hoping this won't change any Xmas stuff as its already bound to be less than we are used to in mid November. Any thoughts on this ir worrying for nothing? But it might be interesting tho crowded to head over for a few hours just to see it.
