Dates and Details for 2026 Disneyland After Dark Events

By April, Paint the Night should be back. It is unlikely that they will just run one parade. They could run the 2nd parade during the After Dark events, but I'm not sure they would. Fireworks are at 9:30 pm.

It’s the least desirable of the after dark events for us.
Maybe it has improved since I went to it. I went before covid, so a long time ago. There were very long lines of people waiting to meet character couples. There were a couple different food items, but other than that, literally nothing special. I don't even think all the rides were open.

I'm definitely canceling the April trip then. What makes that disappointing is it was a VGC reservation and those are hard to get as a non-owner there.
That's too bad. I would do the same thing in your shoes and have rearranged trips to avoid After Dark events in the past. I hope you'll be able to find other dates that work for you!

I know Disney would never do it. But way back when, when they first announced the after dark events, I assumed they would be after normal park hours. Not that they were closing the parks several hours early to non-party guests.

I am definitely going to strategically pick dates with no Party's. Which is difficult with the number that they have, especially with Sweethearts Nights.

Are Sweetheart tickets hard to get? There is one Sunday night event and we are passholders, and I have always wanted to go.

I see quite a few replies about moving visits to not fall during After Dark events. Our possible dates will overlap a couple of them. Could you please share pros/cons?

It looks like the biggest downside is Disneyland closing early and no night time entertainment. Anything else? I figure we can catch the night time events on a different day of our visit. Being on eastern time schedule, probably wouldn't make it to closing every night anyway :)

I also read that Disneyland may be less crowded during the day of After Dark since many won't choose this park and day due to shorter hours.

Anything else?

The Pros is most of the time its not that crowded until near the event

I went and did 90's night and got on rides pretty easy most the day and also went on May 4th and got a ton done

The cons are no nighttime shows or nighttime Disneyland
