DAS Question

I have IBD and anxiety, which further aggravates my IBD at times. I have medication for it that I can take as soon as I wake up. However, it sometimes doesn't always stop an attack and there are times where I have to get to a bathroom ASAP. Would Disney be OK with giving me a DAS if I ask for one because I'd rather wait in a virtual line close to a restroom instead of have an emergency in line and lose my spot? I know no one knows for sure if Disney will OK it, but is there a good chance? I'm just anxious about this and would like to have an answer to ease my mind. Impatience is terrible, lol.

I also want to ask if there are a limited amount of DAS spots. I'm considering trying a park one day without DAS to see how it goes but if I end up thinking I need it and don't ask for one right away, could I miss out?

No limit on DAS spots, and you only have to go through getting the das card once, not every day. I can't comment on whether they will give you one, but no need to worry about trying to go without.

I would encourage you try and get one. As you and OP said, no one knows for sure if you will get one but I definitely think it’s worth it try right off the bat.

Oh, so if I go to MK on Monday and get one, I will have to do it again when I go to Epcot on Tuesday? I thought it was valid for your whole stay once you get one.

DAS is valid for your entire stay (or up to 60 days). Once your ticket or Magicband is electronically linked, DAS will be recognized in any of the 4 WDW Theme Parks.

If I remember correctly, CMs or their guests who are using one day passes need to get their pass linked to DAS each day.

Your need to go and talk to someone at Disney ( at GR) about your needs if you do not want to talk about them out loud you can write your concerns on a paper and tell the CM that you have some concerns as it has to do with the lines I would have a back up plan for if you do not get a DAS or if you get stuck in line ( your still go though the FP line) or if the ride your on stops and get stuck

Hi @courtky
I have the same issue. Last time I visited I found out about DAS halfway through the vacation and it was a lifesaver. The first few days we avoided attractions with lines over 30 mins, and even then had to keep leaving the line. Luckily a CM saw I was upset and when I explained he told me to go to guest services and explain my issues. They were super helpful and the DAS meant we were able to ride everything we wanted. Going again in January and going to see if they will give me a DAS again this time.

Once you have had one all you do is tell them you need to renew it. All the info is already in the system. They will just renew your picture

Most of the time this is the case but every now and then the CM will ask what your needs are I find the times they ask me again I just need to say a few words and they cut me off and say ok. ( I think they want to make sure nothing has changed ) I would say they ask 9/10 so not that often but I am always ready just Incase.
Side note on why I am telling you this is the first time after getting my first DAS was about a year latter the CM asked for my needs and all I could do is look at the CM for a few minutes ( part of my disability) but I do know other that have this problem too. Just did not want you caught off gard
This is also for the PP not for the one I quoted or for anyone reading this
