Hi all
Attending in a couple weeks to attend our first MVMCP. We went in April this year and with excellent planning my 6 yr old with Autism managed the week without a DAS.. we kinda played the wait and see and with two EMMs and great fastpass selection he did ok.
im worried about the fireworks and parade viewing areas.. and the crowds. We will bring his headphones if he wants them and try to surround him so he doesn’t get pushed around as much but wondering if there are any accommodations for non wheelchair users
Thanks

I was able to use the handicap area ( I do not use a mobility device) for the most of my 11 day trip ( found out I could use it day 2 or 3 of my trip ) I did two MNSSPH and used the area for both parade and fireworks area ( they also had a spot for the stage show but I did not need it) the CM were great first time I was never asked a question ( I was wearing my over ear protector and doing a lot of stimming with my hands ) I think once I just told the CM I had a disability and needed a little more room. Just know the space can get crowded but for the most part not as bad as other wise ( no on pushed me got right in-front of me ). Enjoy your trip

Congrats on a successful Disney vacation. and those are AWESOME memory moments for your son :)

fireworks suggestion: this may sound a bit odd because we all hate those people with their iPads in the air, but... stake out a position that is farther away or even restaurant viewing or resort viewing... and then go find those online videos of the fireworks show that you didn't get to experience from under an overheated stranger's armpit as you repeatedly dodged their backpack whacking you in the head every 29 seconds... LOL

as far as the parade, I would say you have to practice being actively assertive about how you maneuver yourselves in the ever-moving crowd at the parades. Be a solid group that doesn't get pushed around and learn how to "come back to formation" when people do try their luck at separating you or getting in front of you.
