DAS or Fastpass? Or doesn't it matter?

I know DAS is more so just like Fastpass where you get a return time and then use the Fastpass queue. My question is: are there any attractions that make better sense to just do FP? What attractions are best to schedule with your 3 FPs for the day at each park? Or doesn't it matter? One park I'm really thinking about is Epcot with the new Frozen ride, Soarin', and Test Track I know they won't be all on the same tier so I'll have to pick and choose which one I really want the FP for. I wouldn't mind suggestions for the other parks too.

There's no one answer here. It's all based on you and the DAS user and how you tour.

For us, I FP anything that is a must do. Since you can't use the DAS for anything while it's got an active return time, I don't want to use it for 7DMT or Anna/Elsa if they're going to have 2 hour waits. I try to schedule my FP so that I can alternate between using FP and DAS and keep us pretty active.

I try to get FP+ for the things that I know get really long lines very quickly, like 7DMT or TSMM, because I would rather not tie up the DAS with something that has an hour or longer wait. When the new Frozen ride opens, you can bet I'll be trying to get FP+ for that. Something else I consider is the location of certain rides. In the MK, I often try to get FP+ for either Splash or Big Thunder and then use the DAS for the other one because they are kind of out there by themselves in Frontierland and it saves some walking if we can do those two back to back rather than get a DAS return time for both and have to find something to do while waiting for the return time.

We fast pass Test Track and use a DAS on Soarin. Get a DAS for Soarin, eat at Garden Grill or the quick service which is excellent, ride the Land ride & the Soarin DAS is ready. There are also attractions like parades and fireworks where DAS isn't usable so if interested in the special viewing areas, a FP+ is needed.

What worked best for me was to use the DAS on something in the general vicinity of my FP. You can get a FP for Tower of Terror and a DAS for RNR. You go ride ToT and when you're done you head over to RNR (or grab a snack or watch Beauty and the Beast or whatever if you have to kill some time.)

Note: **FOR ME** a really effective tool for handling anxiety on RNR was the single rider line. There's a pre-show where they cram everyone into a "recording studio" and it's a big press of bodies that would freak me right out. The single rider line gets segregated onto a balcony behind the crowd and I was either alone or in a group of less than 10. If you are more anxious about the crush of people than the ride itself, I highly recommend trying SR for that ride. It was awesome.

I agree with others regarding using DAS in the general vicinity of something we have FP+ for. The BTMRR/Splash Mountain example is a good one. Get a DAS return time on your way to your BTMRR FP+ and then ride Splash after BTMRR. In DHS, if I'm unable to get a TSMM FP+, we will go there first and get the DAS return time (we don't ride ToT or RnRC, so TSMM is really the only extremely popular attraction we need a pass for). I don't think I've ever used DAS in AK!

I guess we are all guessing TT, Soarin' and Frozen will be Tier 1 in EP. That's going to be a tough one as they are so spread out. I guess I would try to FP+ Frozen, do Soarin or TT at RD and get a DAS for the other one? I guess i better think this one out, too!
