DAS, length of wait and ride theming.

Food for thought. This applies to everyone not just DAS. DAS is not always the fastest way to go if the stand-by time is something manageable. As pointed out, the fastpass line can be longer than your expected time. The CM checking fastpasses doesn’t truly know the situation inside. I’m going to use nice round numbers but: you enter a line at 9:00 am with a “15 minute wait”. There were 40 people let in at 8:30. Of those 40 people person 9 decided to roll/stroll through because they want to enjoy the theming of a ride and not just use FP as a quicker method to get on. You are now behind the remaining number of the 830 group , 30, PLUS however many people are in front of you from the 9:00 slot. This creates a domino effect. Of course, you do have the people who only want to go as quickly as possible through the line but the theming of a ride, IMHO, is just as important. The number of “gotta go now” people is usually greater than the number who want to go leisurely to enjoy the experience but you can’t always count on it. Just food for thought.

You can always ask to bypass the ones who are stopping to enjoy the theming.

That can be the case sometimes but other times can require someone to almost climb over a wheelchair, ecv or stroller if one is being used. It’s just food for thought. I was like number 9 in this scenario and if I had one more person try to go around me pushing on my chair or stepping on it I was going to lose it. And I would like to say the most polite people were actually the younger people (teen”ish”). Their parents are doing a wonderful job raising them.

I don't think that happens often. Every once in a while you will get a group that are stopped to take pictures. They usually take their picture and then catch up to the line. I have only seen a small handful of groups that are really just enjoying the scenery, but people just go around them. In over 2 decades of visits, I don't think that I have ever encountered someone who willfully is holding up the line and blocking it so that no one could pass. That is just a jerk thing to do. If someone wants to enjoy the scenery, then make room for others to go around.

If you are using a mobility device or stroller and decide to stop, the polite thing to do would be to move to the side as much as possible and let people pass. Not sure exactly what you are trying to describe here - what is being number 9 about? Were you the one who stopped to look at the theming? Or did someone ahead of you stop?
