DAS grrrr and a few tears...... and now feeling relieved. Update.

This morning I tried to get a DAS for DH. Waited three hours. Got to video chat, but couldn't figure out how to turn on the camera on laptop. Usually the grandkids call and it's on. The CM talked to us but couldn't see us, but said DH would be able to get it, but we need the camera. I said I could try again with an IPod,. He reminded me that the agreement needs to be signed THE day of the chat. I had read it last night and clicked ok. So I clicked again and when back into queue.

Three and 1/2 hours later. I get another CM. This person says DH has to agree under HIS account. He had an account some years ago. No idea of password and when I tried password help, it said doesn't recognized the email. I told CM I'm the one who made the park passes. I told the CM this and he insists, since there IS an account under his name, he has to agree to it. And then he hung up on me. Of course wishing me a magical day.

This morning me agreeing to the terms was just fine.

I can't find his old account. I put in his email and disney doesn't recognized. I made a new account with the same email and it accepted it. Why disney didn't say this email is already used, I don't know. He has had the same email for years and years. We probably signed him up for some reason years ago and never used it.

Found his account. under my gmail which I never use. I'm guessing we needed to sign him up for something and used that address. Now you know why DD always did our FPs.

wow that sounds like a lot. I hope your trip is more smooth going then the video chat went
 
I got the DAS pass for my DD24 under my account. They never said that she had to sign in under her account. She doesn't have her account. We're all under my account, though.

Yes. I was signed into my account. I do all the planning under my account. (edited to add, when I have plenty of time, I can do park passes or ADR. When there is a time crunch, I freeze. If I was doing the $15 a ride thing, I'd be riding at 9 pm.) The CM said since DH was the one the DAS would be for , it HAD to be under his account. The morning CM didn't seem to have an issue with my account. By the way, I had my DD call me this morning and the camera is NOT working. But can't figure out why. It seems certain apps don't fall under the general "this is ok to use camera" agreement. But I have used my laptop to talk on FB, so something much have been changed. This is a job for DS. I'm trying again on my IPad.
 
Wasted 50 mins this morning . At 7:02 clicked request live video chat. Brought up the chat window from yesterday where the CM said it has to be DH account and many people are waiting, call this number for help and I have to end the chat. The conversation was still showing. And under it says......conversation closed by the agent. So I'm waiting , waiting, nothing else is showing, I even had to refresh the window, still nothing. I finally typed "am I in a queue" and I got the standard please hold , it may take several hours.... the start time of the conversation was 7:53.

I requested DAS for my adult daughter who is disabled. I was signed into my husband’s account since he controls all the tickets, réservations, etc.
My daughter doesn’t have an account.

When the first message came up asking who DAS was being requested for, I introduced myself and said I was requesting DAS for my daughter who is disabled and unable to do it for herself.
It doesn’t make sense that they are basically saying the account holder has to be the one requesting DAS. Many people share one account with the whole family.
If YOU are the one starting the chat, that might be the issue, not that you are signing in under your account. Even if he is there with you, he should be the one requesting DAS; with you as the signed In account and the person requesting DAS for him, the CM might question91895415-D656-45F5-BB00-BD9638E2B688.jpeg it. I think there would be less questions with him doing the request. If he’s signed into his own account, he would need to have everyone listed as Friends & Family.

I used my iPad for requesting DAS and had no problems. Before starting the chat, check the Safari settings. Go to SETTINGS on the iPad, scroll down to SAFARI on the left side menu, then scroll down to CAMERA and MICROPHONE on the right side menu. Mine are both set on ASK and when the CM started the video portion of the chat, a window immediately opened asking if I wanted to allow access.
The choices in the settings are ASK, ALLOW of DENY. If you change it to ALLOW, it should automatically connect.

Since it says, ‘conversation closed by agent,’ my guess is that if the chat comes up again, you will get the same message each time you get to the point where an actual CM would see it. The ‘please wait, it may take several hours’ is part of an automatic reply.
I’d suggest having your husband there with you and then calling the number you were given for help.

Just telling me make sure camera is turned on doesn't help me. I need help finding out how to find out IF the camera IS turned on.

But I did replace the door switch in my washer two weeks ago (thanks youtube), so I'm not hopeless, just with computers.

We did ask about a few rides. Dinosauer , we haven't gone on in a few years. DH thought for sure, he couldn't since it had stairs. So we picked that one . I also asked if we got to a rides (like boats) that once we got through the queue, if DH didn't think he could manage, could we chance our mind, the answer is yes.

I really wish Disney would go to a "you are number 127 in the queue, wait time is about 4 hours".....then update it......"you are number 87...wait time is 3 hours". At least you would know I can do whatever for the first hour or two and only need to glance at the screen now and again instead of being afraid you close your eyes to blink and you miss your chance.

Oh, I did the chat and everything under my account. I had clicked ok to the agreement on both my account and DH's found account.

You can change your mind about going on any attraction, but you cannot change/modify a preselected DAS if you get up to the attraction and decide not to go on it, can you?
 
Just FYI - Dinosaur has stairs in the main queue just a little bit after leaving the last preshow room.
It also has an elevator for guests using mobility devices or who can’t use stairs. It’s to the left just after leaving that preshow room. It leads directly to the unload area of the ride - guests who need to board there board and unload at the same place.
If you have a mobility device or visible need, the CM will direct you there. If the need is invisible, tell the CM you need to avoid stairs.
