Dark or light transfers - what's the difference?

What is the difference between the dark and light transfers? Do the cheap transfers really not wash that well? Bj's has their own brand of 30 for $14.99 I believe versus around $10 for 6 or 7 sheets........

Advice needed! I don't want them to peel after 1 wash!

Re difference between the dark and light transfers?
- dark transfers cost more
- dark transfers don't need to be flipped
- anything colored WHITE on dark transfers turns out WHITE on your shirt (whereas anything colored WHITE on light transfers turns out the color of the tee shirt you're using under the transfer)
- dark transfers use parchment paper which you iron over (whereas light transfers are turned to face the tee shirt and you iron on the back of the light transfer backing that's why you need to flip the image for all light transfers)
- dark transfers appear more vibrant in color to me than light transfers (however, light transfers have their own place - just limited)

I personally prefer DARK HP transfers over light any day! Much easier for me to work with. There are some others that feel the same as me but it's not unanimous.

I've used HP (buy 2 get 1 free) and Avery transfers only; my personal preference is HP DARK! Others like Avery. I don't have any opinion about other brands and cost.
