Okay, here's an overview of our trip. We had a few glitches (kinda like Stitch) but otherwise we had a great time in the few days we were there.

And now, the highlights and lowlights :teeth:

Highlights:

-Loved ME. Worked great. Very effecient. Just a note, we were not flying an airline that would allow us to check in @ the hotel. ME staff called us about 7 times in our 3 day stay to "remind" us that they didn't have our return flight info which they very well did have! No big deal. Just a minor annoyance.
-loved POP. I know alot of people do not like it, but we loved it! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We did have preferred which I think helped! Loved the decor, the food court, even at it's busiest was much more efficient that the All Stars. Bus service was great. Loved not having to stop at other hotels. I have stayed at ASMo, POR, and POFQ. Although I love the moderates, this is my new favorite value!
-MNSSHP was fantastic! I have enough candy to give to the trick-or-treaters at work. Saved me money! Loved the costuming, the atmosphere, everything!!!!!! Met alot of nice people going to the party. There was a family from Miami that had dressed as the people from IASW. Really cool! Loved your outfits! And there was a family of Umpa Loompas!
-We managed to fit alot in for the short time we were going to be there (3 days)! I was a little dissapointed that we weren't staying longer but now I think I'll, take a few smaller trips a year, rather than one long one!
-Hooters flights! They actually serve food! At no charge! Although I wasn't a big fan of the "idea" of the Hooters girls and certaintly didn't want to present my niece w/ a negative image of what should be, the girls were very nice and kept the passengers entertained!
-Planet Hollywood. Haven't been here in a while. Wasn't too happy the last time I was there. Our waiter, J.P., was not only hot!, but a great waiter. In and out. Food was great. Recommend the chicken crunch appetizer.

Lowlights:

-The 1st Hooters flight out of our airport was a nightmare! One passengers decided to make a comment about terrorists and we were delayed for 4 hours w/ everything. 1st our plane was delayed getting to the gate because we were the 1st flight in, then they told us that there was a disabled plane @ our gate. In reality, a passenger had made a remark or comment about terrorists while talking to a local radio station prior to us leaving AVP and they called the FBI. We were eventually greeted by about 6 or 7 police cars, bomb dogs, fire trucks, not very pretty. We were taken off the plane one by one, onto buses, bussed to the terminal, held in a seperate "secured" area, run back through security, escorted back to the plane to get our carryons, sent to baggage claim, and finally after about a 4 hours delay, we arrived at POP. It wouldn't have really mattered, but we were only there 3 days! We wasted 1/2 of one because of some "idiot". Pardon me, but how stupid can you be?
-I actually yelled at a Cast Member and pushed a woman out of my way. I have never, ever done either of these, at Disney or otherwise. I work in customer service. I know the "customer" is NOT always right! The CM was in the FP area of Soarin. Waited in what was the line, people blocked the way, other people made the new line, CM would not let us through, said we needed to get in line. Yelled at her we WERE in the line. Wanted to apologize. So not her fault. Didn't get a chance.
-My Halloween costume had a major malfunction. I was very, very sad!

There were a few more, not so Disney moments that I will post as I think of them. I did notice, that the Disney staff were not so happy but from my view, it was really due to the visitors. Most people in general, were not happy, and very, very rude and pushy. Did not enjoy that. I encountered it everywhere!! What happened to the "Happiest Place on Earth?".

it is usually there .......we have to keep looking for it. Sorry about the down side to the trip.....but thanks for telling us about the POP which I have not been to yet......thanks again

Hey-- I am also fro NEPA and will be taking a Hooters flight to Orlando in early January. I read in the paper about what happened on the flight. What a jerk!!!!

That disaster aside, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed Hooters AIr. My whole family is going, young children included, and I was also nervous about taking that flight. Can you give me any other details about the flight? What kind of food did they serve. Also, I am slightly worried that they don't give out paper tickets, just your confirmation number. How did that work at check in? When I originally booked the flight, it said it left at 7, but I just recently checked their website adn it said the flight left at 8, but I have not heard anything officially from the airline. Any info would really be appreciated.

Put your worries aside. Everything worked out great!

1st There are flight attendants and Hooters girls onboard. Both are very friendly.

2nd. Other than the "idiot", the flight went smoothly. We took off a little late because of NewsWatch 16 but other than that, all went well. We returned home w/out a glitch. I would recommend checking in early because the Hooters counter at AVP doesn't have a whole lot of space, so it takes a little bit longer to check everyone in.

3rd. On the way down, we got a sausage and cheese biscuit. It was tasty but it was airline food after all, so don't set your expectations too high. On a positive note, the biscuit was hot! Can you imagine my surprise! On the way back, we received a turkey wrap w/ potatoe salad. I found it to be very yummy. Others might disagree.

4th. The Hooters girls played Hooters trivia and scavenger hunt. Both were were cool and very family oriented. We won prizes (little things, Hooters keychains, stickets, sunglasses). We won on the way down and back.

5th. Don't worry about not having paper tickets, most airlines these days do not issue paper tickets. You really don't even need your confirmation to check in. Just your ID. Hooters has the passenger manifest and pulls up all reservations using that.

6th. The #'s are getting silly. Anywho, Hooters has changed their flight times for the flights. No biggie. Just leaving an hour later and coming home an hour later. They have been trying to contact all passengers regarding the time changes. Keep in mind, the return home is the turn around flight from Scranton to Orlando. So if the outbound flight changes, the return will as well.

One issue to note, on the return home, there wasn't an official counter for Hooters airline in Orlando. We were checked in at the Iceland Air counter by Delta reps. Go figure. But again, everything went smoothly. Will not hesitate to use them in the future. Actually, I was looking @ weekend rates for December. Might try to squeeze another trip in to the world. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, let me know.

Thank you so much for all the great info!!!! I am actually glad that the flight out will be an hour later- more time to get ten people (including a 1 year old)to the airport!!!! :Pinkbounc

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!
