Okay, here's an overview of our trip. We had a few glitches (kinda like Stitch) but otherwise we had a great time in the few days we were there.
And now, the highlights and lowlights
Highlights:
-Loved ME. Worked great. Very effecient. Just a note, we were not flying an airline that would allow us to check in @ the hotel. ME staff called us about 7 times in our 3 day stay to "remind" us that they didn't have our return flight info which they very well did have! No big deal. Just a minor annoyance.
-loved POP. I know alot of people do not like it, but we loved it! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We did have preferred which I think helped! Loved the decor, the food court, even at it's busiest was much more efficient that the All Stars. Bus service was great. Loved not having to stop at other hotels. I have stayed at ASMo, POR, and POFQ. Although I love the moderates, this is my new favorite value!
-MNSSHP was fantastic! I have enough candy to give to the trick-or-treaters at work. Saved me money! Loved the costuming, the atmosphere, everything!!!!!! Met alot of nice people going to the party. There was a family from Miami that had dressed as the people from IASW. Really cool! Loved your outfits! And there was a family of Umpa Loompas!
-We managed to fit alot in for the short time we were going to be there (3 days)! I was a little dissapointed that we weren't staying longer but now I think I'll, take a few smaller trips a year, rather than one long one!
-Hooters flights! They actually serve food! At no charge! Although I wasn't a big fan of the "idea" of the Hooters girls and certaintly didn't want to present my niece w/ a negative image of what should be, the girls were very nice and kept the passengers entertained!
-Planet Hollywood. Haven't been here in a while. Wasn't too happy the last time I was there. Our waiter, J.P., was not only hot!, but a great waiter. In and out. Food was great. Recommend the chicken crunch appetizer.
Lowlights:
-The 1st Hooters flight out of our airport was a nightmare! One passengers decided to make a comment about terrorists and we were delayed for 4 hours w/ everything. 1st our plane was delayed getting to the gate because we were the 1st flight in, then they told us that there was a disabled plane @ our gate. In reality, a passenger had made a remark or comment about terrorists while talking to a local radio station prior to us leaving AVP and they called the FBI. We were eventually greeted by about 6 or 7 police cars, bomb dogs, fire trucks, not very pretty. We were taken off the plane one by one, onto buses, bussed to the terminal, held in a seperate "secured" area, run back through security, escorted back to the plane to get our carryons, sent to baggage claim, and finally after about a 4 hours delay, we arrived at POP. It wouldn't have really mattered, but we were only there 3 days! We wasted 1/2 of one because of some "idiot". Pardon me, but how stupid can you be?
-I actually yelled at a Cast Member and pushed a woman out of my way. I have never, ever done either of these, at Disney or otherwise. I work in customer service. I know the "customer" is NOT always right! The CM was in the FP area of Soarin. Waited in what was the line, people blocked the way, other people made the new line, CM would not let us through, said we needed to get in line. Yelled at her we WERE in the line. Wanted to apologize. So not her fault. Didn't get a chance.
-My Halloween costume had a major malfunction. I was very, very sad!
There were a few more, not so Disney moments that I will post as I think of them. I did notice, that the Disney staff were not so happy but from my view, it was really due to the visitors. Most people in general, were not happy, and very, very rude and pushy. Did not enjoy that. I encountered it everywhere!! What happened to the "Happiest Place on Earth?".
