Dancing around the world~One pole at a time~~~Return of the prodigal trip reporter...

And a new avatar. Blue's doing a lot of DIS maintenance.

Home maintenance too! I should post a picture of my new dishes. I just happened across them and noticed how well they'd fit into my new kitchen. Nevermind that they also look sort of Animal Kingdom-ish. What can I say....it's been on our brain since we signed the papers! :rotfl2:

You know I'm going to miss that Magic Bag of Crap you MIL carried. In fact I bought one on my last trip. But I hung it on my scooter so nobody had to carry it. And I did fill it up with stuff we bought and mugs and sweaters and hats and...... It was quite handy.

Hey Cherie! Just noticed this one. Awaiting the next installment...this is gonna be good! :scared1:

Tickers are GOOD!! DS picked that one out for me. That's why it has Buzz on it. :rotfl2:

Good Pick C!!!

Is this becuz you are a DVC owner:rotfl2:

When we went back in 2008 we were in building 10 right near the pool and food court. From what I read back then, the only buildings family suites were in were both Calypso buildings and both Jazz buildings. Don't know if that has changed or not.

Oh dear lord help me! My family is going to think I've really lost it now. :D PoW is one of my daily site visits. It's like a bad car wreck that you just can't look away from.

:rotfl: :lmao:

Are Calypso and Jazz near pool and foodcourt??

Going on the "WILD" side Blue !!!!

Yes they are. Building 10 and 9 are Calypso and Building 1 and 2 are Jazz. I'd have to go dig around for the map we were given when we checked in though to be sure of the building numbers at least.

ETA: Here is the allears.net fact sheet on ASMu. And here is the map of the resort.

Building 10 (Calypso) and Building 1 (Jazz) are the closest to the food court/Melody Hall and pool.

Hope that helps!

Good grief, your pants are brief... I"m thinking it's the next top 40 hit.
:rotfl2:

I'm turning over a new leaf and instead of just enjoying trip reports and going on my merry way without posting, I'm going to delurk.

I've enjoyed your previous TRs (and your journey with Jordan as flat Winkers) and I know I'll love this one. You're very funny.

Your new kitchen is beautiful and I'm so green-eyed jealous! Ours is somewhat updated at this point as far as appliances go but that's it. I've given up the dream of a total reno. Maybe when I'm 65 I'll finally have those granite counters and a cooktop large enough to put 4 large pots on at once. And a double oven...and new cabinets...and an inset sink. Sigh.

Leaving for the World in 2.5 weeks and I just love reading TRs to get in the mood. Looking forward to the next post.

Laura
I'm glad you came out of lurking!
Remodeling is a pain in the patooty! I'm beginning to think it will never be over!

On the theme of what people wear to Disney check out this site.

It's kind of like the Walmart site.

:rotfl:Great singing in the rain pole dancing pic!!! Where is that darn umbrella anyway??? I miss it every time! :confused3
It's near the streets of america

I am surprised you didn't slip and fall while doing the pole pic ;).
so am I!

Cherie I wish I would have known of your flag fetish earlier! I could have made you a flag and you could have led us around MK the night of EMH! :lmao:
ohh, that would have been cool!

Breakfast - Check!
Rope drop - Check!
Take time to follow Cherie's flag around today - CHECK!!

I have no problem with magic bags of crap as long as the person carries it them self!;)

Welcome!

After my first dance in the world we came across the chinese laundry where we stopped to take a picture just for Jordan...

Karate Kid, I am not.....I'm more of a sumo wrestler trying to balance on one leg.....weebles wobble but they don't fall down.

D.Jay did his interprutation...

2009-04-27013.jpg

D.Jay gave me a warning that if I kept up with my pole dancing, this may be my fate..

It was soon time to head to DTD for our first meet with Rosie. I goofed, because I thought the boat launch went from DHS to DTD....so we ended up taking a taxi over to DTD. We had never walked through the west side or pleasure island so we had some fun shopping before our dinner adr.

We found a store called little miss matched, where I spent a ridiculous amount of money buying Bailie miss matched socks and flip flops. She loves weird socks and wearing differnt patterns.:confused3

We made it to Raglan Rd about 25 minutes before our adr time, to wait for Rosie. I always get a little nervous the first time I meet someone in "real life". When we met up it was realy like seeing a good friend. She gave us a big hug and then cracked us up the rest of the evening!

2009-04-27021.jpg

This was our first trip to RR and I was excited from looking at the menu on line...I already knew what I was going to order.

D.Jay and Rosie both ordered the meat platter ....

2009-04-27022.jpg

I went with the steak

2009-04-27024.jpg

Rosie and I were both a little disappointed when we saw the dessert menu because it had been changed....the yummy banana dessert we both wanted to try was taken off.
Our waitress said that they had to take it off because they had problems with all of the alcohol burnning off...and people getting a bit tipsy.

D.Jay had the bread and butter pudding....he was enjoying it so much I thought he might need some alone time with it.

It was served with butter and hot butterscotch...it was delisious!

2009-04-27026.jpg

My choice was chocolate upon chocolate...it was good but very rich.

2009-04-27027.jpg

Rosie had the trifle...
2009-04-27028.jpg

After dinner we walked around DTD for a bit....this is about as close to
riding a motor cycle I'll ever get...

2009-04-27029.jpg

We lost Rosie for a second, but we found her.......

2009-04-27030.jpg

We had alot of fun that evening! My sides were hurting from all the laughing we did that night! We all took the bus back to POP and checked out the gift shop for the first out of 100 times.

up next.....feel the burn..

Looks like a lot of fun with Rosie! I see you rubbed off on her! :rotfl2: Her pole pic is hilarious!

It looks like yall had so much fun. Rosie is so cute. I think you found a new hobby, pole dancing. LOL! When are yall going back? Why don't yall go for Mardi Gras next year:thumbsup2 that is when we are going. Mardi Gras is March 8th.

You, d.jay, and Rosie are cracking me up with your photo poses!!! I am beginning to wonder just how many pole dancing pics you took on this trip! Can't wait to see them all! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Lol. The pole dancing pics are just killing me! Too funny!

Now, maybe it's just personal preference...but...I notice you take on the smaller/thinner poles...while Rosie took on a rather large one. ;)

Dinner looked really good...yours at least. :P

Can't wait to read the next installment.

One must be on constant lookout for these things.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your time with Rosie. I can’t wait to hear about your continued Adventures in Poling!

Thanks for the homage at the Chinese Laundry! I'm surprised there's no pic of you on the ground with broken glass all around you..:rotfl2:

The Pole and Rosie seem to know each other pretty well...;) Just sayin.

That Trifle looks awesome.

Lovin' your last update, Cherie! Too funny!

I think you did very well at Karate Kid posing. And hitting the hog!

Love that you were cracking each other up, and that it felt like an old friendship when you met. :thumbsup2

Love all of the pictures - especially the last one of Rosie. :rotfl:

Mmmmmm - your meal at Raglan Road is making me hungry! Yummmm! What was your overall opinion of it? Was there any entertainment while you were there?
