I think the kitchen drama is almost over!! Now that just leaves the entire basement...but I am loving my new kitchen! It's at least 3 x's the size of my old one and the cupboards are wood not metal!

Before I post the new pictures I'll give you a little run down on the drama....while we were in Utah for 2 weeks for christmas my MIL (mother in law) royaly messed things up and told the contractors to do something we didn't want. It ended up making the kitchen smaller than it was origninally.

Here's what we came home to

To fix this small problem we had to cut and put in a new staircase and replace the floor over the old one.

Here's how things looked after the staircase was put in the correct spot.

After 2 months of eating sandwiches and microwave crap, the kitchen is almost done! This week the backsplash tile will go up and a panel will be made to cover the power box...

my tiffany style lights...we have a matching chandelier for the dining area that will go up soon.

To say that I am in heaven is an understatment! In the old kitchen I had about 4 feet of counter space, two feet on each side of the sink, and 3 cupboards along with 4 drawers.
It was a realy realy old kitchen with pretty old appliances. I find myself standing in the kitchen and just staring. I do believe I'm in love.

We are just finishing up our kitchen too, but we didn't redo the entire thing, just flooring and appliances, paint... all cosmetic stuff... We will do the whole thing when I talk Terry into moving the back wall of the entire house back about 5 feet...

The new kitchen is beautiful!! I would have freaked out if I am home and everything was in the wrong place, wow that would have made me a wreck. It is so nice to see that it turned out great.
