We got up early again as we had to be ready for our segway tour at 7:15am. We were let through security early (it wasn't a magacal morning so the Disneyland park didn't open until 8am today) and waited for our instructors. Soon the instructors arrived and we went to have breakfast and watch a brief training video. The segways were different to the ones we had ridden at WDW as to turn these you just tilted the handle bars in the direction you wanted to go in. We went into the California Adventure park which was still closed and practiced some moves up and down hills, turning etc. Soon we were on our way zooming around the park. California Adventure is great to ride a segway in as it is flat in some areas where as others are quite hilly (these sections were more of a challenge!) As we rode around the instructors told us info about the park and we stopped a few times for rest breaks and to spot hidden mickeys. At one point we had to ride back stage and Minnie Mouse was walking by, unfortunately Pete didn't see her as she was around a corner and he nearly ran her over!! The tour was great fun. Next time we are aw WDW I want to do the off road segway tour!!
At 10am the tour was over and the CM's took our tickets to be scanned so we could stay in the park. So we headed straight for California Screamin to get a fast pass and then rode Mulholland Madness. By now our feet were aching so we decided to go back to the room for a short break. I sat on the balcony watching the new monorail go past.
And also watching people on Grizzly River Run.
Now for those of you that don't know, Disneyland should have 3 new monorails by now, but only one is working, (the 2nd is being tested and the 3rd not even built yet!) and even then it is not working all day as when they redesigned it they didn't think about ventilation very well and the cabins get too hot so they can only run it when the temperature is below a certain level!! Not good in the Californian sun!!
At 12pm we went back into the park to ride California Screamin. We grabbed a FP for Grizzly River Run on the way past and also one for Screamin before we rode it (the GRR FP machine isn't connected to the FP network).
Screamin was a really fun coaster.
Next we went on the Sun Wheel to look at the views over the park. Soon it was time to go over to the Hypernion theatre to watch Aladdin. We had VIP seats thanks to our tour yesterday so we were let into the theatre 1st. The show was really good and the genie very funny. The show is 45 minutes long and done like a West End musical.
After the show we rode Grizzly River Run and got soaked, so we decided to go back to the hotel for a swim. After a relax we headed back into the Disneyland park to take a few pictures:
And then get our VIP seating for the parade. We watched the parade from some benches at the front of the station. We had a great view.
As soon as the parade ended we went over to California Adventure to the Wine Country Trattoria for our dinner. We had a lovely meal sitting outside on the patio. By now it was dark so we went over to Screamin to ride it using our FP from earlier.
Then we noticed the Toy Story Midway Mania line was only 20 minutes so we decided to join that (TSMM doesn't have FP here like it does at WDW.)
As soon as we had ridden TSMM the park was closing as it was 10pm. We decided to head back to the hotel for bed as we had to be up early again in the morning for another early Magical Morning entry (on site guests can use MM every day it is offered.)
